Book Description

Indigo Love Spectrum February 2, 2010
Denise Rich isn't interested in anything except getting her law degree and becoming a lawyer. There's a plan. A very good one. And John Archer isn't part of that plan. But he comes along anyway and blows the plan to pieces.  He takes away her ability to hold everything in perfect order. Up until him, she was happy to live vicariously through her two best friends, Suse and Astoria.

At first, Denise thinks what John gives her in trade for her old life is worth the disruption of everything she's known -- a chance at real love.  And it is until he takes it away.  Denise is now at the end of her ability to love and believe.  Her journey to get that ability back is a rocky one that involves a trip to Vegas and almost ends in disaster.

1.0 out of 5 stars Someone please ask Sandra Kitt to write another REAL INTERRACIAL ROMANCE NOVEL, April 17, 2010
This review is from: Love Out of Order (Indigo Love Spectrum) (Mass Market Paperback)
I am tired of these writers picking up a pen and writing this unbelievable BS. I know people hardly write with pen and paper anymore. But maybe we should go back to the basics and learn something. I am tired of the lack of character development in this book. I am tired of the weak/whiney/annoying supporting characters. Like all of the negative reviewers before me, I agree that this story was not a romance. This was a story of a freshman high school dramedy. I am sick of these writers writing the voice of a weak, illogical, desperate Black woman. Where are the Strong Black women in these stories? I want someone to find it within themselves to write a story with literary archetypes.
It just makes me think that these writers are just as insecure as their characters. Perhaps, I should just write something my damn self. This was totally bananas!

2.0 out of 5 stars Too one sided for me, February 7, 2010
This review is from: Love Out of Order (Indigo Love Spectrum) (Mass Market Paperback)
I really tried to like this book; but I felt that this book was too one sided in the main female character's favor to be a true romance. Yes, John didn't always make the best decisions regarding their relationship; but Denise was always demanding that he prove his love to her when she did nothing to fight for her love to him. She was always so eager for him to let her down so she could say "I told you that you didn't really love me"; but she never seemed wonder why he made the decisions that he did or what caused him to react in certain ways. After completely reading this novel; I felt like that I had only touched the surface of who John was and what his life was like before Denise and Denise was content with that because between her and her friends; it was all about her pain. At the end of this book, I didn't feel like I knew anything of any depth about John and I felt that he was getting short changed in this "relationship". He lost his whole family except for his brother and his whole way of life for loving her; yet it was still all about Denise and her inability to truly deal with the pain of being dumped by a former lover. Things don't always work out the way that we would like them to; but if we don't learn from these disappointments and truly move forward, then anything that comes afterwards is a waste. I just couldn't see this relationship lasting in the long term.

1.0 out of 5 stars HIgh School Drama, February 16, 2010
This review is from: Love Out of Order (Indigo Love Spectrum) (Mass Market Paperback)
This story would only work if the situation was high school. Two adults in Law school should know what they want in a relationship, interracial or other wise. Why would a grown man let his father dictate his life. To me, that is not the type of man you want in your life. What else can't he decide for himself. At the end of the day mama and daddy are not sleeping in either of their beds. The story dragged on and on like teenagers about to be thrown out of the house.
