OTHER_BOOKS_BY_AUTHOR: Animal Experimentation: A Harvest of Shame, Coping and Beyond -- Dr. Helen Caldicott, Founder of Physicians for Social Responsibility
I have enjoyed reading and rereading Dr. Fadali's poems in Love, Passion & Solitude. I'm afraid I'm a soft touch for Dr. Fadali's thoughts and expressions, doubtless from a harmony of values, but as much for their beauty and force. -- Ramsey Clark, Former Attorney General of the United States
Moneim Fadali is unique among physicians. Not only is he an excellent surgeon, he is a humane and compassionate man who cares deeply about the planet. Love, Passion and Solitude is a magnificent book of poems expressing these sentiments which reflect his passion and joy for life. It is rare to have the opportunity to read the deeper sentiments of a practicing physician. The very nature of their work often tends to create a mechanism which inhibits the expression of such emotions at this level. I recommend these beautiful creative works of art to you for your enjoyment. -- Dr. Helen Caldicott, Founder of Physicians for Social Responsibility
When reading Dr. Fadali's prose in Coping and Beyond, and his poetry in Love, Passion & Solitude, one is struck by his penetrating sense of compassion. Having committed his life to the healing of others through medicine, Dr. Fadali's writings probe beyond the physical to the essence of humanity. Ranging over the planet in Love, Passion & Solitude, the author shares a caretaker's solicitude for earth's fragile resources, bent to the will of uncompromising taskmasters. I have had the pleasure of interviewing Dr. Fadali and found him to be a philosopher with a compelling message for mankind. -- Carolyn Hutcheson, Talk Show Host, WHBB Radio
Dr. Fadali he has published extensively in his medical specialty. But in addition to his medical credentials, he is a published poet/philosopher. His book, Coping and Beyond, published by DeVorss & Company, is due for a third printing -- a book of essays and observations of life and living. Another of his books, Animal Experimentation: A Harvest of Shame, is a breakthrough volume making the case for ending research on animals on both scientific and ethical grounds.
Dr. Fadali is a frequent guest on radio and television where his poetry is read and his insightful, progressive views on the environment and the human condition are sought. His television series, "Total Transformation: The Unconditioned Mind," is shown on television nationwide.

"Sophomoric" connotes too much advancement to apply here!,

This review is from: Love, Passion & Solitude (Mass Market Paperback)
Having caught the last minutes of an interview of Fadali, by a questioner I respect, and also having library shelves bare of much modern poetry, I purchased this thin little book. The adjective describes both size and content. For the first few pages, I thought certainly this must be an anthology, beginning from the barest, stumbling efforts of Fidali, writing when but a child. But as I continued to turn the pages, I realized that the adult writer consciously INTENDED to create a written work in which EVERY SINGLE END WORD RHYMED! An example follows: "Do you see a child building a castle in the sand? With high spirits and a steady hand. To him, the future looks rosy and grand. Dreaming one day he will be the leader of the band. On every issue, he contends, disputes and takes a stand. His mind is confused, hands full, but, his soul is bland. Driven by desires and the dictates of the adrenal gland. Clinging, lusting, rushing, envying; sorrow is his brand. Mistaking his smart computers and misguided staff for a magic............WAND." ???????? So help me... this is a verse of one poem. I only wish I had investigated him at my public library before sending my pennies to Amazon.com. to actually PURCHASE this drivel. But then, I'd probably have lost my library privileges! No amount of "shushing" could have controlled my laughter!
