It still puzzles me in this world who gets famous.... who makes the money and who gets the street cred. In a world where mediocre rapper/frat boys like Asher Roth manage to churn out a juvenile chart topping hit and cash in .... we still see true poets like Aceyalone and Mac Lethal having to hit the stage night after night across the country in half ass venues to make a living doing what they love and when they were destined to do.
This cd takes you yet again on a journey through the lyrical gymnastics and quit witted tongue lashings of Mac Lethal. Sometimes funny, clever, political, heartfelt, satirical, dark and spiteful .. it encompasses what I believe the best rap albums all have in common... balance. This record may not be the best rap album of all time but it is leaps and bounds above 99% of the mainstream garbage we are forced to be tortured by. Listen to what he is saying .. he actually HAS something to say. |
