This review is from: Love the Real Da Vinci Code: Maximizing Your Creative Genius, Health, and Wealth Through Divine Communion (Hardcover)
I'm not so sure how I can get healthier and wealthier since reading this book, but it was fascinating none the less. Horowitz has done a marvelous job of bringing together different areas of study into one comprehensive whole. I had always wondered why music seemed so important, why we called the universe (a united verse, and a verse meaning a part of the story of a whole song)why Azlan sang the world into being in The Chronicles of Narnia, and why the father of mathematics, Pythagoras thought music was so important, also, why children who play a musical instrument are better at math, and now, I think I get it.

Music is math, and God creates through sound. Light turns into sound when slowed down, at least as far as I understand it, and then sound slowed down is matter. Horowowitz brings in the work of Dr. Emoto, the man who showed how sound effects water, and again, the water turns into crystals when frozen and the shapes are different according to the emotion of the words. (Is it an accident that Dr. Emoto's last name could be emotion? The world just get crazier sometimes). And what about Horowitz' name and the Egyptian god Horas who taught writing? Lots to think about.

I found out why Da Vinci wrote backwards, and why some cultures write from right to left, what dislexia might mean, why the numbers are shaped the way they are, and lots more that has never been properly explained. I imagine that if this were taught in school, kids would find math a lot more interesting.

Horowitz shows us why Da Vinci drew his picture of man in a box/circle/hexagon shape and why there are 2 sets of and feet. I think what Horowitz was trying to get across is that if we move with through life naturally, like water, not fighting against the natural world, we can create with the grand creator, instead of the way we do things now in our modern world. We fight cancer, instead of embracing health, we make war on the Earth, digging her up to get our energy, instead of observing the natural world and how energy is there for the taking, naturally, efficiently, and in harmony with no toxic waste. Nature shows us the way and Da Vinci was trying to show us the math for following her lead.

The book itself is very large print, 20 font I think, and has exercises to do at ever chapter. When I first got the book I thought it was a little light for the price. Then I read it and found that it was so packed with wisdom, that if it were not laid out the way it was, it would be daunting to read and understand.

I mean to make a point to explore more of Horowitz' work in the future after reading this book.
