Book Description

What if everything you knew about your life turned out to be a lie?

Ava Sullivan thought her biggest problems were a cheating boyfriend, a devious step-sister, and a weakness for designer handbags. But when a mysterious caller leaves her a message for her birthday, Ava’s curiosity leads her to uncover her parents’ best kept secret. Feeling betrayed, Ava begins to question every relationship in her life, especially that of the hot new guy she can’t seem to stop thinking about.

Jay Matthews, on the other hand, knows all about regrets, especially when it comes to families. He also knows what he wants, and Ava sits at the top of that list. Getting her attention is easy. Getting her to learn how to trust again? That will take a miracle.

About the Author

Stephanie Haddad's earliest works featured unicorns and talking pumpkins who overcame adversity, evil, and the threat of being baked into pies. With age, her writing has evolved to more grown-up topics, like love and the complicated relationships between people. As a life-long lover of cheerful fiction, she strives to tackle real-world issues with wit, hope, and lots of humor. Her short stories have spanned many genres, but her full-length novels stay firmly planted in happy endings, via both romance and women's fiction. In 2009, Stephanie joined the Romance Writers of America to celebrate her addiction to perfect plot resolutions with other writers just like her. Combining a passion for the human condition with a penchant for the romantic, Stephanie strives to write every story as though it is a conversation shared between friends. As she balances new motherhood, a freelance writing workload, and an independent publishing career, Stephanie continues her work on a planned three-book women's fiction series, a collection of romantic urban fantasy short stories, and several single-title romances. Her first novel, A Previous Engagement, was released in July 2011. She lives, loves, and writes near Boston, MA, the home of all of her novels.

3.0 out of 5 stars Puppy Love August 31, 2012
By I.A.
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Other reviews have covered the author, characters, and plot, so I will keep it simple and just "add to the thread." The target audience for this book is probably teens and early 20's. The friends and boyfriends in this book are no different than the ones that all adult women have probably already experienced. It's a decent, clean read for younger women: the sentences and grammar are competent, although nothing "magical"; the characters are all well-developed, and stay consistent; the plot resolves itself logically, and even if it is a little predictable, it's not annoyingly so. It is not a classic that bridges all age groups, but if you're looking for something for you 16-25 y.o. to help them "get interested in books," this could be it. Cheers!

4.0 out of 5 stars Read Books in Order if Possible! June 10, 2012
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I read Stephanie Haddad's Love Unlisted prior to reading this novel and wish I had read this novel first.

In Love Regifted, our main protagnist Ava, who was a secondary character in Love Unlisted, is front and center in this new novel. The prologue deals with Ava always getting birthday cards from her Aunt Audra and wondering why she has never met her. When asking her mother about her you can tell that her mother is trying to put her off and change the secret. Fast forward several years later and Ava is celebrating her 28th birthday.

To say more would spoil the book so I would say that first of Stephanie Haddad is a very gifted writer. I bought this book since I had bought Love Unlisted and loved that book and heroine. All of her novels take place in Boston where the author also resides. You can tell she knows the area very well by her descriptions of the trains, Bostom Commons, and other streets and sites in Boston.

Some quibbles I had were that some of the things that Ava had to deal with in her life were just so frustrating since I wanted her to stop just being forced to do what everyone around her wanted her to do. I think it's all well in good to have best friends' in your life that you go to for advice and understanding, but Ava seemed to allow her friends' and her mother to push her around a lot more than I think should be okay for a woman who is 28 years old not 18 years old. Also some of the characters' in this novel were just not very well written and stayed two dimension or cartoonish to me. The ending of this novel left so many questions up in the air and may lead a reader to be slightly dissatisfied. I suggest you read Love Unlisted to see what the future has in store for Ava!

5.0 out of 5 stars More than just a beach read! July 21, 2012
By LCRicci
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
After reading Ms. Haddad's first two books, I looked forward to bringing "Love Regifted" on vacation. Heading out to the beach with my stocked Kindle in hand, I immediately started Love Regifted and wouldn't put it down even when I was in fear of a slight sunburn. The main character Ava had a small part in a previous novel so I already felt like I was returning to a world I knew. The book moved at a good pace, was easy to read, and very enjoyable for the beach -- but had enough substance with Ava's emotions dealing with family issues and how it affected a new love interest and close friends that it was not just a forgettable fluff book. I finished it that night . . . lathered in aloe, and looking forward to her next book!

4.0 out of 5 stars A lot like real life
This is a great story but I'm more of a happy book person in a way. This story was more like a real persons life than the Cinderella stories you usually read. Read more
