This album is worth buying for the "Love Is My Religion" song alone! If people across the globe would open their minds to this song, we could truly have world peace. Anyway, there are other good songs on this album too, so I definitely recommend it. Even better is the "Love Is My Religion-Live Concert DVD". I highly recommend both this CD and the DVD!

This CD was my first Ziggy Marley recording.
It is better than I expected. The Tuff Gong would be proud. I will be getting more recordings by Ziggy Marley-for sure... Very pleasant sounds.

This is a very uplifting, upbeat cd. You'll enjoy it if you enjoy Bob Marley. It will give you high spirits.

"Love is My Religion Re-Release" Gives me good vibrations,

I really enjoy this album. I have not purchased a Ziggy Marley CD in years, and I'm very pleased with this one. I don't relate to all the lyrics in the songs, but the melody's are great, and the rhythm has a great groove.

At [...] we like to revue music that fits in with our ideals. This is definitely one of those albums.
Love is My Religion is a solid reggae album with a message that I eat up with a spoon. Sure there is a dog or two on the album but in totality it is an impressive effort by Ziggy. Throw in the fact the cat's name is Ziggy and we have a sure fire winner. On the title track, Ziggy absolutely nails the Rasta/love vibe. I mean love is his religion folks. I appreciate those who have religion in their life, I'm not exactly one of them...this track sings directly to me. In the line "Love is my religion. I don't condemn, I don't convert" he did just that. I'm sold. With such positive and loving lyrics backed by a solid, bouncy, reggae upstroke going on in the background, I can't help but dance with a huge smile on my face. This is sonic sunshine. Throughout this album it is very clear that Ziggy has found himself love and he is more than happy to share it with everyone else. On the slow jam track A lifetime, Ziggy sings the line "A lifetime isn't enough to love ya". I'm pretty sure he convinced whomever he wrote it for that his feelings were strong. Happy for ya Ziggy. There is also an acoustic version of the title track on the album which I surprised me with how good it was. Ziggy stripped down is quite impressive. I am hoping at some point he will release a complete album just like this. If you get the opportunity, this album is well worth a listen. If you don't have enough time for all of it though, don't miss "Love is my Religion". It really is a gem. If you like what you've read check out[...] for more.

There's not a weak link on this album. It's the kind of standard you'd expect from the Marleys brand. You'll notice that while distinctly Bob-Marley-like, Ziggy has established his own identity. He explores new areas without losing the reggae authenticity expected from any son of Bob Marley. It has a more ska and acoustic feel to it than a lot of Bob's best known music. It's refreshing to find a Reggae cd that scratches the intended itch, you had in mind when you thought to put a Marley Reggae cd on to begin with, yet it doesn't get lost in the shuffle because it Ziggy separates himself from both his father's music as well as the plethera of cookie cutter reggae musicians out there. If you want something reggae, kind of like Bob Marley but not so cliche as just putting on Bob's Greatest Hits and not as vanilla as picking another random reggae band just to hear steel drums, then you should give this a try.
