5.0 out of 5 stars The forgotten hero, January 3, 2003

This review is from: Love Remembers (Audio CD)
This is actually one of the best packages of music Benson has ever recorded. The instrumentals are as strong as previous efforts such as "Being with You" and "Off Broadway". As for the song selection, "Living on Borrowed Time" and "Love Remembers" remind you of the Benson music we loved from 80-84 (smooth and melodic). As for the cover tunes, "Got to Be There" and "Calling You" are possibly the best versions availible. If you liked "Give Me The Night", "20/20" and "In Your Eyes", you must have "Love Remembers".

5.0 out of 5 stars One of all-time best Bensons, September 7, 2004
By
Orio (Salsomaggiore Terme, PR Italy) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Love Remembers (Audio CD)

This CD contains an amazing amount of excellent music. And don't think you can hear it all from the available sample tracks: the best is in the second half of the album.

This album mixes some of the Benson singer and some of the best Benson musician. But the most valuable quality is the "wholeness" of the production level. Contributors such as Bob James and Randy Brecker are amongst the best living musicians. In particular the arrangements by Bob James are excellent.

In this album there is what for me is the best Benson song, "Lovin' on borrowed time", a gem that is very little known. And Benson's interpretation of the famous "Calling you" is mesmerizing. Amongst the intrumentals, excellent are "Lost in love", "Willing to fight" and "Somewhere island".

This album will be loved by both the fans of Benson singer, and the contemporary jazz fans. If you trust my word: you don't want to miss it.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of Mr. Benson's Best 'later', Recordings, August 28, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Love Remembers (Audio CD)

One thing for sure about George Benson, his extraoardinary fingers, voice, smooth yet moving writing/taste, Studio Friends & Producers, is that he is/was still producing top notch, world class guitar Jazz in the 90s & even beyond 2000, and this outstanding recording is no exception.

His heartfelt voice, tasty guitar chords and licks and melodies are in sufficient supply here from song to song, and there are no songs here that don't measure up to what we expect from GB. I've been a private party & function DJ for many yrs, and this CD sounds almost as unique, memorable and catchy as his very best recordings of the 70s, 80s. You won't be disappointed if you purchase this later Gem. Thanks to Amazon and their 'third party' seller for this quick to arrive and inexpensive, mini-masterpiece.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice smooth jazz, December 17, 2000
This review is from: Love Remembers (Audio CD)
A very good smooth jazz album with a little touch of r&b thanks to some help from Brian McKnight. George is a wonderful guitarist/vocalist and this album is very easy to listen to. This album has 4 instrumentals, the rest have vocals. Every track on this album is good, and fits any mood. As well as Brian McKnight,.. Kirk Whalum, Bob James and Randy Brecker also lend their talents. For lovers of smooth jazz, I recommend this album.
