This book is full of insight. I've been married for 17 years to a wonderful man that I have always respected. I never realized, however, how many little things I said and did that made him feel so belittled. (And he certainly didn't know how to share that with me!) It really is like learning to speak a different language. And although I KNEW he loved me, I also felt that something was missing. It's not easy to change so many years of habit, but understanding why we each react the way we do has made it easier to connect with one another. I whole-heartedly recommend this book, especially if your goal is to make your spouse more happy, and so have a more peaceful marriage. Even if you think you can never respect your husband, or your wife is unlovable, there is valuable knowledge to be gained here.

This is an excellent study, whether married or not. This will change you view of how men and women respond to each other for ever.

It helps couples in distress, understand & recover from the hurt & pain caused from both sides. It has been most helpful to my husband & me. The book & workbook have been very enlightening for both of us and It relates to believers & none believers.

but it takes effort to change your marriage. Use the info in this book to provide you with the tools needed to rebuild your marriage.

This book was highly recommended in a class we attended called "The Dance of Marriage". Successful communication and understanding of your spouse is essential to make marriage work, and this book spells it out clearly. It has helped saved many marriages and is great for any committed relationship that wants to continue to succeed.

every couple if you have problem in your married life please give time to read this with your husband if you that your relationship will last till death do you part.it's a blessing for every couple. i love this book than other book i've read.

Delivery went very well. And the book is one of the GREATEST books I've ever read on relationships. Highly recommended to anyone, including singles who feel as though life may be over simply b/c they haven't found the "right" one just yet. Having love all day long will NEVER take the place of respect as it's lifelong partner.

All married and engaged couples should read this book together. My husband and I separated in December and started to work things out in February and decided to work through this book together. This decision and process has truly been a blessing and we are now living with each other again and will be renewing our vows to each other on our next anniversaryy (#11) at the end of June. The process is not easy, but it is worth every step of it. My husband and I both are looking forward to attending one of their conferences.

Dr. Eggerichs has a great idea incorporating respect into your marriage. He writes as if you've already read a lot of books on love, and harps on the wife a lot. If you can get past the fairly strict gender rolls he ascribes to and read the book for the overall concept of respecting your partner, then this will be a great help for your marriage. I highly recommend reading the appendices. In some cases, I found those to be written better than the actual book.

I liked the workbook, but not as much as the book that it goes with. I found the book itself to be more of a resource than the workbook, but I would probably still recommend both of them. The workbook was still in great shape when it was sent and it arrived on time, so that was great regardless.
