What a wonderful cd. Anyone who has heard her {"Peel Me A Grape") will know what the heart of this cd contains.... desire being realized. I have over the last year become entranced with the music of Dianne Krall and found her utterly delightful. Her music runs the gamut of emotions. At the office, I have played her "Peel Me A Grape " song and asked people who did not know her to describe what she looks like. No one has ever been correct. They all think she is an elderly African American woman who is huge. Anyone who has had the pleasure of seeing her in person or on her cd covers knows that this is not the case. Not only does she have a beautiful voice, she plays the piano even better. If you do not know this artist - but one of her cds. It does not matter which one. In time you will have to have all of her works. She is a true artist, a storyteller, a bender of verse, and a delight.

I saw Diana Krall at the Newport Jazz Festival in 1998. I looked for her CD in a lot of stores in Nashville, TN but I did not know how to spell her name properly. I was excited to find six of her CD's at Barnes and Noble in Nashville and they had a listening station. I loved every song on "Love Scenes" and I will buy any CD she releases. She puts her heart and soul into every note.

I can't remember how I came to pick up her first CD; maybe I had heard her sing on some movie sound track, or perhaps it was just her pretty face in the crowd on the CD rack, but ever since then I have had to buy every recording she has out. (In fact, I have one on order that is not yet released!)
This one is another jewel I am happy to report! Her style is amazing and harkens back to an era when jazz/blues was king. (Isn't it still?) Her sultry voice allows one to sit back and just relax. Her songs make their point without forcing it on you, which makes them even more powerful.
There are so many good tracks on this CD that I would be hard pressed to decide which one was my favorite. The angst of "All or Nothing at All," and "I Don't Stand a Ghost of a Chance;" the honey laden "Peel Me a Grape," the playfulness of "Lost My Mind;" evey one of these is a perfect gem. In short, this is a "Must Have" for any jazz enthusiast's collection!
