5.0 out of 5 stars The perfect accompaniment to the greatest hits
Although this cd is not commercially available in U.S record stores, this remix collection of Enigma's greatest hits is an excellent accompaniment to the original "Love, Sensuality, Devotion". I would certainly say that it is a must have for diehard Enigma fans. There are nine tracks on this cd, including the new single "Turn Around" [Northern Lights...

I unfortunately have to temper the enthousiasm from the previous reviewers a little. Sure, the CD collects some cool remixes, but leaves many out too. Where is "Eyes of Truth" (Gotterdammerung Mix)? "Eyes of Truth" (from "The Matrix") was also notably absent from the regular Greatest Hits even though it was a single. And this release also did not make available the out-of-print omen mix of "Principles of Lust" or any of the remixes of "Rivers of Belief" or the unreleased ATB mix from "Silence Must Be Heard".

Bottom line is, with the CD running only 60-something minutes, this could have been done much better. They could have at least put the excellent "Eyes of Truth" and "Rivers of Belief" remixes on the CD. It doesn't make sense to not fill up the 78 minute capacity, when high quality and appropriate material is available, especially when everybody is already downloading mp3's all over the place. Make your CD at least a complete document, so that people will buy it !

5.0 out of 5 stars The perfect accompaniment to the greatest hits, January 6, 2002

Although this cd is not commercially available in U.S record stores, this remix collection of Enigma's greatest hits is an excellent accompaniment to the original "Love, Sensuality, Devotion". I would certainly say that it is a must have for diehard Enigma fans. There are nine tracks on this cd, including the new single "Turn Around" [Northern Lights Club Mix], a ten minute epic destined to be a club classic. The remaining eight tracks are remixes of the group's singles from over the years. I must say that is a real pleasure hearing those songs in a new and unique way. Although I am no fan of ATB as a trance dj, he does a remarkably good job at remixing "Push the Limits" or maybe the song just sounded good as a trance remix. I particularly adored the remixes to "Gravity of Love" and "Sadness (Part 1)", two of my all-time favorite Enigma songs. The judgement day club mix of "Gravity of Love" is a lot different from the chilled out version I heard on as b-side for the "Turn Around" single. Overall I adore this remix collection. It would have been perfect if this cd was released with the original "Love, Sensuality, and Devotion" cd. Not a single dud found on this cd.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Remix from Heaven - Enigmatic!, February 15, 2005

LSD Remix from Germany of some of the greatest hits of Enigma is absolutely perfect. Smooth dance themes mixed with simply amazingly dazzling voice overs make this CD one heck of a buy. Turn this CD on in a party, or even by yourself and you will get positive feel good actions.

The only reason I gave this CD only 4 stars was that it was not long enough and I was hoping for a remix of Beyond The Invisible. Other than that, this is a breath taking CD into the farthest reaches of Love, Sensuality and Devotion

4.0 out of 5 stars Great one..., June 22, 2002

Great remix album. For those who like enigma, but are afraid that a whole album is a bit dull. Enigma is of course very good, but sometimes I get the feeling that the songs are alike and a bit too moody and slowly paced for too long a time. If you think like me, this album is the solution ! Much more danceable but the remixers kept in mind that it is Enigma, so the Enigma sound is preserved. There is not a bad mix on this one! I think the mixes are a perfect balance between Enigma and (soft) trance-like music. In one word: recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than ever...ENIGMA's "Love Sensuality Devotion: The Remix Collection, January 14, 2007
By

So it's 1990-something and I'm 20-something...and life is good. I'm crankin up the stereo to Enigma's Sadeness Pt. 1 from MCMXC a.D., or I'm dancin' to Return To Innocence from The Cross of Changes at my favorite club. Now, fast forward to today: I'm 30-something, and life is STILL good. I may not be dancing the night away at the clubs, but I'm still crankin' up the stereo because Sadeness Pt. 1 AND Return To Innocence have been revamped. Enigma's U.S. release of Love Sensuality Devotion: The Remix Collection makes me think about my old special friend in a fresh, new way. In this new release, the voice of Enigma is BACK with a vengeance.

Good evening, this is the voice of Enigma. Feel your body start to move slowly. Let the rhythm be your guiding light." Intro from "Turn Around, Northern Lights Club Mix" - Love Sensuality Devotion: The Remix Collection (2006).

In this nine track compilation, there is a little something for everyone - Enigma fans past and present. There is a nice mixture of electronica meeting trip hop for those who rave the night away to good music. "Turn Around" has a great beat with synthesizer effects that also gives an ambient, new age edge for those who just wish to relax and meditate. For me, the artistry behind the music of Enigma is still very much a mystery, but one thing is for certain: the fact that they have consistently turned out great beats is NOT a mystery. This album is a collection of greatest hits with the remixes of signature songs like "Age Of Loneliness," "Principles Of Lust," and "Mea Culpa" that I find is easy to listen to whether I'm chilling, working, driving, dancing around my house...it is music that fits in with everything and transcends time with its fresh approach.

This is an essential Enigma collection with reworkings of all their greatest stuff. It's fantastic to listen to and to dance to. I have no "Sadeness" for buying this album.

5.0 out of 5 stars Much Better than the Original!, August 11, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Love Sensually Devotion: Remix (Dig) (Audio CD)
Rarely do I listen to a track on Amazon and feel almost forced by the song's greatness to buy it (note to Amazon: if you actually let the full song play out, maybe people might get more of a feel for the album and buy it). This is the one exception. These songs are mind blowing. Literally. Just listen to the mix of "Sadness" and tell me that they haven't improved the songs! That track is by far the best (imagine the best party or rave in your life with the best DJ known to man and that's Sadness remixed), but all of the songs are furious! This is a cd to play loud when the parents or the kids (at whichever stage you are in life!) are out. I love Enigma and for years I've thought that they were the best thing in music of the modern era. This cd just confirms that and more. It's great for workout music or just to trance out. Gorgeous chants, hard core bass thumping beats, and all of the imagery and technique of Enigma. What more could you ask for?

4.0 out of 5 stars Love,Sensuality,yet NO Devotion, September 29, 2004

I found Enigma, not by one of their albums. The first time i ever heard anything from them, was at the end of a movie called Man of The House.I instantly fell in love with them.I immediately bought LSD,and a couple other albums from them.Enigma actually opened the doors for me to listen to alot of other new age stuff.
The remixes for LSD are pretty good actually, all except for Turn Around and Gravity of Love.Gravity of Love is one of my all time favorites, and they totally ruined it with the remix. The remix to Return to Innocence is amazing, almost better then the original version

4.0 out of 5 stars great but still regrets, June 19, 2004
By
This review is from: Love Sensually Devotion: Remix (Dig) (Audio CD)
The album was great, especially the remixes of Age of Loneliness, Push the Limits, Return to innocence and T.N.T. for the brain. other were also fine, but still i wonder why did they put that Gravity of Love mix, there are some much better than that, e.g. Dark Vocal Club mix. and also it 'd be better tu put the armand Van Helden mix of mea culpa instead of that.
Still, the album is great and worth listening to and bying.

3.0 out of 5 stars Wrecked opportunity!, November 6, 2002
This review is from: Love Sensually Devotion: Remix (Dig) (Audio CD)
I listened to this CD and while the remixes were enjoyable overall, I was immensely dissapointed at the incredible stash of remixes that were completely neglected on this sampler. Don't get me wrong, this is a great collection from a musical standpoint but there's so much missing that could've made this the ultimate remix album in my book.

Missing tracks include the rock remix of "Out From The Deep" which has a much stronger rock n' roll punch that makes it actually superior to the original album version found on "Cross of Changes" as well as an erotic mix of "The Principles of Lust" called the Jazz Mix which is a very haunting and eerie mix with a much slower rhythm and an aquatic mood. Just these two songs I mentioned would've made this a phenomenal remix album.

However, an extra star is added for the inclusion of the Midnight Man Mix of "TNT For The Brain" which has a much darker, and much more ambient sound that is MUCH superior to the original album on Enigma 3. Though I enjoy the tracks on here, the "Midnight Man" mix is the only one on this CD that I feel actually surpasses or even does any justice to the original.
