From the Back Cover

Are you missing the vibrant, exciting sex life you used to have?

Do you avoid sex because it is uncomfortable? Or even painful?

Are you faced with diabetes, heart disease, cancer, or another illness that makes sex more challenging?

Have you lost interest in sex altogether?

Are you ready to . . . love sex again?

For millions of women in America, sex is not the pleasurable, fun activity it once was. For many, sex has become a low priority as they navigate marriage, motherhood, and work . . . not to mention chronic stress and lack of sleep. Throw in the natural fluctuations in hormone levels that all women experience—whether due to PMS or pregnancy or while postpartum or perimenopausal, and beyond—and it is not surprising that sex becomes, well, a little less sexy. Common gynecological problems can make sex uncomfortable, and medical issues can cause it to be downright painful.

If you've been unwilling or afraid to talk to your doctor about your problems in the bedroom, or if you have asked your physician for help and want advice beyond "take a bubble bath" or "try a lubricant," then Love Sex Again is your guide to reclaiming the sex life you want . . . and deserve! Meet Lauren Streicher, the doctor who will change your life.

Dr. Streicher, a leading women's sexual health expert, offers women the courage, vocabulary, and knowledge to identify and solve problems in the bedroom once and for all. In Love Sex Again, Dr. Streicher covers the full scope of issues regarding sexuality—from flagging libido to vaginal dryness to sex after menopause, and so much more. She cuts through the hearsay on the use of hormone replacement therapy and discusses which hormonal products women of all ages can and should use, and why. She explains why some women experience a complete loss of libido due to medication, birth control, or a cycle of painful sex that basically shuts down desire—and how to reverse this trend.

She illustrates the possible sources of sexual discomfort—everything from skin disorders to endometriosis—and offers solutions on drugs and treatment that can stop the pain. And, for the first time, Dr. Streicher helps women who have endured medical issues such as heart disease, diabetes, and cancer to reclaim sex as a part of their lives during and after treatment.

Knowledge is always the best weapon—and Love Sex Again offers a wealth of it, along with a good dose of humor and plenty of encouragement, so that women of all ages can make having great sex a part of their lives forever.

I'm going to say right up front that I didn't buy this book - I'm more of a Jack Reacher kind of a guy. But recently, my wife won a couple of tickets to see Dr. Streicher speak at a women's sexual health event, and when she came home, she had a purple bag in one hand, and "Love Sex Again" in the other. I won't tell you what was in the bag, but I will tell you that the bag and the book have changed our lives. For the first time, I was able to understand my wife's problem and that her reluctance to have sex had nothing to do with me. She just couldn't talk to me about it, because she never knew what was wrong. And she was embarrassed. This book gave her the information she needed - and me, the opportunity to be supportive. Well written, easy to understand - even for a guy like me - and now we're looking forward to incorporating the title into our daily lives.

This book is chock full of information presented in a friendly tone with hilarious anecdotes from a professional who obviously has a lot of experience. Just be prepared that nothing is taboo in Dr. Streicher's book. Some of the stories and statistics are pretty shocking. There were times when I couldn't help but read them out loud to my husband. I would recommend this to book all women whether or not you have sexual problems (for that matter, I think every gynecologist should have a copy in their waiting room). I even bought my mom and sister a copy.

There is no field more burdened with information - and misinformation - than women's health. At a cultural time when issues such as birth control, abortion, reproductive care and hormonal changes have become political footballs and topics of heated debate rather than health and medical concerns that should be as considered and supported by the medical industry as men's ED treatments, a doctor with the smarts, humor, and compassion of Dr. Lauren Streicher is a much needed breath of fresh, informative, air.

It may be hard to understand how, in the year 2014, the issues that impact women's sexuality as they grow older are still topics to cringe over, blush about, even ignore in lieu of making positive changes, but it's clear Dr. Streicher is out to change all that. I've seen her speak on the topic and her energy, her candor, her willingness to take on any topic and shine the light on whatever needs shinin', regardless of how intimate, how personal, or even - for some women - how embarrassing, is nothing if not bracing! She knows when to inject humor, when to get serious and methodical, when to give details and when to acknowledge that many woman still need some hand-holding when it comes to owning their sexuality and getting proactive about how to make it better... for them and their partners. And who doesn't want that?

All I know is, if I lived in Chicago I'd want Dr. Streicher to be my gynecologist!

A very well written, laymen approach to a technical and sensitive topic. Understand why things work the way they do and now have rejuvenated the much missed feeling. I am 65 and look and feel like I am in my early 50's. All the healthy eating, exercising, and personal skin care treatment just made the desire for the physical connection greater. Have that now thanks to understanding how my body works and what it needs to continuing enjoying sex. Recommend it for women of all ages!

This book is excellent. I recommend it for every woman out there no matter what your age. I feel "normal" again in a sense knowing that I am not alone. Women are beginning to demand this in their lives - and most important, they need it in their lives. It's worth the purchase. I am actually having my husband read it as it really concerns him also. He now has an understanding about how I have been feeling and more important, how we together are fixing it.
