Biography

The B-52's are most recognisable from their brightly coloured 50-retro look and their unique vocals, mixing the high-pitched melodic harmonies of lead singers Cindy Wilson and Kate Pierson with the sprechgesang vocals of frontman Fred Schneider. Formed in early 1977, their eponymous debut album was released in 1978 and quickly gained an underground following, as their new-wave/surf pop sound… Read more in Amazon's B-52's Store

Five versions of one song. It is not the B-52's best song, but it is their biggest hit. Go figure. I love the Acappella version! (Kate starts singing in the wrong place - it's great.)

4.0 out of 5 stars Love Shack is my lucky song, July 26, 2005

At most dances to which I have gone I have danced with someone when this song is playing. Only reason this CD has 4 stars instead of 5 is the original version of this song is not featured on this CD. However the Acapella version is neat and the other mixes are neat as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love, baby, that's where it's at, July 2, 2003

"Love Shack" was just about my favorite song from 1989. All five remixes here are really great. I especially like the 12" Mix, which used samples from the Temptations "Ain't Too Proud To Beg". The A Cappella mix is a lot of fun, too. "Channel Z" is the other song here. It's good, but not as good as "Love Shack". This just might be the best CD single ever.
