This was the first eBook that I've read and I was very pleased with it. It made for a quick read, finished it in just 2 evenings. It has a sweet storyline and you will likely fall in love with the main characters (Lily and Sam) right from the start. If you're looking for a charming little romance and you like a small town vibe then you won't be disappointed in this one. And it's free -- so, definitely add it to your library! (Also, I oftentimes find it nice to know the demographic of the reviewer when trying to deside on an item. So, I'll share that I am a 26 year old, married, mother of 2, from Southern Indiana.) Enjoy your new eBook!

You'll want to visit this Small Town!,
This review is from: Love in a Small Town (Kindle Edition)
When you fall in love with the main character in a book, you know you're in for a great read. Sam is totally charming, and what woman wouldn't love to have him as a neighbor (and hope he'll become more than a neighbor!). I loved the banter between Sam and Lily, too. In fact, all the characters are well-developed, multi-dimensional and original.
The story is sweet, light-hearted and fresh. This cozy Small Town is one you'll want to visit, and stay right to the end.

Lovely Romance,

I liked this book, especially for its being clean. The main couple, Sam and Lily were extremely likeable. I loved the idea of the small town setting. The descriptions worked well and the personalities of the sub-characters leaped off the page. The plot of the book is perhaps very simple, yet for me it worked. I wanted to read a light romance with a happy ending and this was that. I appreciate that the author didn't go for the "same old" plot twists of many romances and shied away from including sex. The best romances don't require that. There were some minor problems with sentence structure and word placement, especially toward the beginning of the book. Overall, this is a lovely story for an afternoon's read. I enjoyed it.

I love a good romance story but so often they are just filthy. This book was not only fun, quirky, and enjoyable - but CLEAN too! The characters have spark and passion with each other - but never go beyond kissing.
The characters were very likable and the small town was just what a good small town is - but without too many stereotypes that seem to plague other small town books.

NO GRAPHIC SEX, safe for your young teen to enjoy! Plot is well flushed out, only noticed one editing error; once Browning is spelled Broning. Worth a couple hours to enjoy it. I believe I snagged it for .99 or free through. PLOT: Man moves back to hometown to sell family house. Meets neighbor who intrigues him. She turns out to be the MAYOR, as well as a shop owner. They bond and fall in love, but only ever kiss. He is planning to sell the house and accept a great job in another state. She spends the book trying to change his mind. He has to decide what he really wants and what his priorities are. (Happy ending) Verdict: Worth reading, safe for teens, nothing by kissing in it. Worth normal price if that's what you're looking for. Definitely worth it if you catch it on sale.

Quick read, cute story. Some points were not as believable, and plot points were a little to convenient. But, the it was well done enough you didn't care. I'm undecided between 3 and 4 stars, but since it lived up to what one would expect (fun, nothing deep) I went for the 4.
I can see the author creating more stories around this town since a lot of the other characters were quirky enough to make you want to know more about them. |
