Biography

Born in Saginaw, Michigan, Stevie Wonder moved to Detroit at an early age and has become one of that city's most famous sons. Editorial Reviews

A selection of love songs gleaned from his deleted 1977 anthology Looking Back. Although the obligitory well-known love songs are included ('My Cherie Amour', 'Yester-Me, Yester-You, Yesterday'), there are a couple of surprises included: the wonderful "Never Dreamed You'd Leave in Summer" and the original version of 'Until You Come Back to Me (That's What I'm Gonna Do),' which was hit-covered by Aretha Franklin in 1974. Motown. 2005. --This text refers to an alternate Audio CD edition.

4.0 out of 5 stars Try to see things my way., May 13, 2006

This review is from: Love Songs: 20 Classic Hits (Audio CD)
This is a collection of pre-1972 tracks by Stevie Wonder. It's not really a "greatest hits" collection, since some classics like "Fingertips" and "Uptight(Everything's Alright)" aren't here. It's supposed to be a collection of "love songs", but some of the songs, like "We Can Work It Out" and "Blowin' in the Wind" aren't really love songs. Still, it's a good collection of songs including classic hits like "My Cherie Amour", "If You Really Love Me" and "Signed, Sealed, Delivered I'm Yours"; alongside some more obscure songs. Here is the complete track listing:

1. Contract on Love
2. My Cherie Amour
3. Until You Come Back to Me
4. Yester-Me, Yester-You, Yesterday
5. Never Had a Dream Come True
6. If You Really Love Me
7. Heaven Help Us All
8. Never Dreamed You'd Leave in Summer
9. A Place in the Sun
10. Alfie
11. Hey Love
12. For Once in My Life
13. We Can Work It Out
14. I Was Made to Love Her
15. Don't Know Why I Love You
16. Blowin' in the Wind
17. Shoo-Be-Doo-Be-Doo-Da-Day
18. I'm Wondering
19. Nothing's Too Good For My Baby
20. Signed, Sealed, Delivered I'm Yours

4.0 out of 5 stars Stevie on a Plate, July 16, 2003
This review is from: Love Songs: 20 Classic Hits (Audio CD)
You have 20 fine chunks of Stevie here, all sweet and cuddly and radio friendly, all those loving tracks. Listen to it and i'll bet you know a good half of these, at least. And the rest you'll grow to enjoy. One of those feelgood records that you can play to your girlfriend. There's no risky creations here, therefore you know what you're gonna get, but this is the purpose. Thank god for Stevie. I enjoy "We can work it out" "signed sealed delivered" "hey love" " my cherie amour" and "if you really love me" for starters. But perhaps the coolest moment is pre-pube Stevie singin' "Contract on Love" - what a way to start the album! Throw this disc on and prepare to emote.

5.0 out of 5 stars great overall collection, January 18, 2009
huge Stevie Wonder fan and this collection i bought many years ago and i enjoyed it all. Stevie Wonder is One of the Mount Rushmore Artists, Songwriters,Producers,etc.... etc.... ever to me and my ears. so many classics and one of the very few artists to me that got it right where words and music are concearned. vocally he is so soulful.
