This album may not be available in the US stores, but it is widely available in Canada, which is where I bought it. This is truly an album of beautiful songs, that run the gamut of all kinds of love, and their respective feelings. 16 strong, powerful ballads as only Chris De Burgh can do them. 3 of the songs are new, while the rest have been pulled from previous albums, although 3 of those have been newly recorded, while "Lonely Sky" is a remix. An exceptional album, and the booklet contains all the lyrics. A must-have for all those romantics out there.

I found the cassette in a department store in Wuhan, China, while spending a year in a small village as a consultant, greatly missing my wife and family. After listening many times on my walkman (my only source of western entertainment) I found myself singing the whole album aloud during long walks through the chinese countryside. The album (sorry, i'm showing my age) became my theme for my time in China and my connection with my Scottish wife back in Texas. I'd been familiar with "Lady in Red" and "Ferryman", but interested in Chris DeBurgh since I'd heard an extensive interview on Spanish radio when I lived in Seville in "92. To me, the songs flow well into a "concept" album, mirroring the fluctuations, elations, despair and hope of romantic emotions.

Just writing this review as I have to tell you Americans what you are missing.
Born in Ireland, Chris de Burgh is one of the best song writers I have heard in ages. Not like all this rap, r&b etc stuff that is coming out today.
This album is full to the brim of mooving songs, 1 of which I sang go my girl, "So Beautiful".
I think this music sets the mood for love and peace. See someone that don't like it? They don't know what they are missing.
Lady In Red is another fave of mine. Which he composed for his wife a long time ago. If you cannot see the WHOLE collection of his albums here, Amazon.co.uk has most of them. Go on, you know you want to buy this album, and all the others!
Take it from a Briton, (stiff upper lip and all that) this album will make you teery. You'll love it, trust me!

This CD is marvelous. I bought it at Heathrow on my way back to the states and listened to it the whole 11 hours back to L.A.! It combines all the old favorites, including LIR and some great new ones as well. It's the perfect CD to have playing while having a candle-light dinner with your lover. A definite keeper.

I found this CD at Schiphol Airport Amsterdam (not available at the time in the US) In a Country Churchyard is absolutely the best song ever.

Get the CD, get to your room, close the door, get your portable cd player(Do listen to this using headphones only), dim the lights and listen to it... Don't let me explain it and spoil the fun for you.. I have done this several times.. And I am sure CDB will work the same magic for you guys also..

For some reason this album was hard to find. My wife wanted the song "Lady in Red". This did the trick.

i have been waiting for weeks to receive this item so how can I possibly rate this other than to say " come on and send it allready! "

Found this CD whilst searching for a particular Chris De Burgh song and bought it and all the songs are very good.

I haven't bought an album in years and this is the best of Chris' songs all on one album (to me). Lady in Red is my favorite song of all time. That's what I really wanted and got so much more from my Amazon purchase.
