This is an excellent collection of ballads by the young Frank Sinatra. I already own the 12 cd Columbia boxed set, but I had to get this because it includes 6 unreleased alternate takes. Columbia has done a wonderful job in thier Sinatra compilation cd's by nearly always including extra tracks like these. Even though it contains very few of his famous hits, this whole cd is fantastic.

Lover's of love songs you won't want to pass on this Frank Sinatra cd!! Beautifull orchastrations with the very seductive lyrics that only Frank can phrase so tenderly. An excellent mood setting cd for someone special. A perfect selection for Valentine's Day,(add a red rose to complete this very exquisite cd).

It is this smooth silky flawless baritone sound that earned Sinatra the nickname, "The Voice". The recordings on this CD represent the best of his early sound. This sound is pre-booze, pre-women and pre-smoking. These are the things that eventually changed the "Voice" from it's pristine clarity. In fact Sinatra himself admitted that he smoked so that the "Voice" took on a darker texture. Few Singers have had a career in which their voices took on totally new physical Sounds as did Sinatra. Though I personally prefer the sound of Sinatra in the Fifties, This CD is a must buy for any fan. He may be gone but these recordings will be reproduced for generations to come!

I'm listening to the CD now as I go through my Monday at work. This CD is a wonderful compilation of some of Sinatra's most romantic songs, and it's delightful to listen to his voice singing "Take My Love" or "Embraceable You", while imagining the ladies' eyes fluttering with passion in the old movies. This compilation might not have Sinatra's better known songs, but they are just like 18 rosebuds, waiting to bloom at the right moment. For a good ol' fashioned romantic night, pack a blanket, a bottle of champagne, and be in front of a fireplace with your loved one. Play the music at low volume ... The smooth caresses of Sinatra's voices and the crackles of the wood, would be something to remember.

Every song in the CD is a true winner that has been digitally remastered, so we can enjoy some of Frank's best as though they were recorded using today's technology. These 15 tracks are from the 40's and early 50's. Some of the "alternate takes" of these great Columbia recordings are presented for our enjoyment. Be prepared for nearly an hour of pure enjoyment.

this is a Great add to the collection.you cna never have enough of Frank Sinatra.His Musical Legacy just blows your mind away as time passes.He was a One of a Kind Artist.very few Artists before or since that you can say that about.this is a very chill set.check it out.

Franks Sinatra first years as a singer are the best. It's the best way to apreciate his voice and the feeling of the songs at a time when hope and love was at risk. This album proves the best way to finish the 40's and began the 50's and 60's. They are in fact the golden years for Frank and for the music.

If you're a Sinatra fan it doesn't get any better then this. The remastering of these old tunes is great. Kick off your shoes and relax. Blue eyes is sitting next to you crooning on this one. Women will swoon.

If you are a fan of Frank Sinatra's songs then this CD is a must! I just Love these songs as I got two of the same CD's one for my gf and the other for me.

A great all round CD of wonderful love songs by the great man - put it on and truly relax.
