A few rare tracks here,

This release is part of Sony's "Love Songs" collection. Heart already has several compilation albums out there, but this one is a little different. This album contains three previously unreleased tracks. "Alone", "Love Song" and "These Dreams" are all from 2005's PBS Soundstage show. The other albums represented here are: "Greatest Hits/Live" (1980), "Private Audition" (1982), "Dog & Butterfly" (1978), "Alive In Seattle" (2003), "Jupiter's Darling" (2004), "Passionworks" (1983), "Little Queen" (1977) and "Heart" (1985).
I like that they didn't use the same old songs over again for this set. I also like that they threw in some new unreleased live tracks. Even if you already own every Heart album, this one is a little different and worth the price.

Heart is one of the great bands of the 70's and 80's. And with a name like Heart, it's a sure bet they'll have some love songs. This collection is great for people who are listening to this fantastic group for the first time, but it only offers one "new" song, which is a cover of Elton John's "Love Song". All in all in it is good, but if you are versed in Heart, you probably have all but that one song.

Heart: LOVE SONGS (2006),
By Chad DeFeo "(ChandlerBingFan)" (Philadelphia, PA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Love Songs (Audio CD)
In 2006, Heart released their twenty-third album entitled, LOVE SONGS. You think Heart is just all-around Hard Rock? Well, Heart is allowed to have a little...Heart. This album features a good deal of "Love Songs". Some songs on here are of uptempo and hard rocking sound, but for the most part, the songs on here are among the greatest of Heart ballads.
SWEET DARLIN' From the album BEBE LE STRANGE (1980). Not one of my favorites. ALONE (Live) Original version from the album BAD ANIMALS (1987). Great song, but the album version always was and always is the best. MAGIC MAN (Live) Original version from the album DREAMBOAT ANNIE (1976). Great live performance. ONE WORD From the album PRIVATE AUDITION (1982). Great song. LOVE SONG (Live) New song. Great song. LIGHTER TOUCH From the album DOG & BUTTERFLY (1978). Great. THESE DREAMS (Live) Original version from the album HEART (1985). Still love this song, and I even love this live performance. NO OTHER LOVE From the album JUPITERS DARLING (2004). Great. HOW CAN I REFUSE From the album PASSIONWORKS (1983). Great song. UNCHAINED MELODY (Live) From the album GREATEST HITS LIVE (1980). Deleted from the CD & Cassette editions of the album GREATEST HITS LIVE (1980). Great cover. LOVE ALIVE From the album LITTLE QUEEN (1977). Not a favorite of mine. WHAT ABOUT LOVE From the album HEART (1985). Ended the album with a song from the best Heart album out there. Great song. This is for all Heart fans who have a little...Heart. This is a great ballads album and it is a must-have for all the Heart fans out there with all Heart.
