Very solid effort!!!!,

I have to say that this album surprised me. I am very familiar with the original versions of the songs Jordan covered on this album. I was unsure if he would pull them off. I am happy to say that yes he does! On some of these songs, like "Waiting for a girl like you" originally done by Foreigner, he adds his own spin and uses a great falsetto on the chorus. I think the song he does with Deborah Gibson, "Say Goodbye" is a FANTASTIC duet. This song should be a sure fire hit!!! But really what can I say, the covers are good, the new songs are good. The only song that it took a while to grow on me was Jordan's cover of "Careless Whisper" but now I even like that song. He can sing!!! Way to go Jordan and good duet choice!!!!

must have for JK collectors,
By
This review is from: Love Songs (Audio CD)
I've been a JK and NKOTB fan since 1989.. of course i'm one of the fans that puts teh FAN in Fanatic. this lastest album is better than the last (the Fix) and very different from his first (give it to you). I love hearing some Old favorites with some new ones and a few of these are on "the Fix" also. If your a NK collector like me, its a must have.. if your not that into him and love these old "love songs" its a must have. My husband wrinkled his nose at the old classics covered by Jordan, but then my husband just doenst get the JK thing.

This album immediately takes me back with Jordan's amazing renditions of 80's love songs. Jordan is a gifted singer and songwriter who is only getting better with age. I am so glad I bought this album. I have not been able to stop listening to it.

Great voice - a few surprise choices :-),

Yes I do love this cd - don't get me wrong - I just don't understand some of the choices. This is titled Love Songs and yet out of nowhere is Little Drummer Boy! Hello! Doesn't anyone else think that is strange? Having said that, Jordan is still a great vocalist. He has a beautiful range (he does a good falsetto) and some of these songs make that range shine through. He does the most beautiful song with Deborah Gibson called Say Goodbye. It is stunning and a definate favourite of mine. I also love his versions of She's Got A Way and Drive. I love those songs at the best of times, but he's changed them up a bit and really done a great job. The only song I don't like is Careless Whisper. It didn't do anything for me. He's already prooved that he can write music, so now he's entitled to do some covers.
If you put out of your mind the fact that he used to be in one of the biggest and most successful boy bands in music history, you will also see for yourself how talented he is. This cd is really worth listening to and I am sure you'll enjoy it. It is fantastic.

Jordan, "Where Is Your Heart Tonight"??,

Jordan Knight is one of the best, underrated singers alive today. However biased I may be, I would not say this if I didn't truly believe it. Both his falsetto and tenor have held me spellbound for over 15 years. He's one of those rare singers who can sing upbeat and slow songs equally well. Why, then, does "Love Songs" leave me wanting?? Probably because there is not enough of Jordan himself in these songs; his voice rings true, and yet, it's as if he's holding back. Sometimes, this is a good strategy; one can easily be too over-the-top and ruin an otherwise decent song. But not here; personally, I would've liked to have heard Jordan pour out his heart much more and use his trademark falsetto more often--certainly not on every song, which would've made even that boring--so as to convey the album's theme far more powerfully. Also, while I often wondered how certain songs would come out if sung by Jordan, now I know: as high-grade karaoke. 80s favorites such as "Careless Whisper", "Waiting For A Girl Like You" and "Drive" are all well sung, yet not sung differently enough for Jordan to make them truly his own. That's disappointing; given the overall feel of his debut and how "I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man" came out--and not many should even attempt to remake a Prince song--this compilation should've been far better than it is. The original songs here are what I really like and wish there were more of: first single "Say Goodbye" w/Deborah Gibson, "I Wish", and "Have You", "Where Is Your Heart Tonight"(previously heard on last year's EP, "The Fix"); all are heartfelt, bittersweet, midtempo ballads but each with their own unique character. Unfortunately, the split personality of the CD--half original, half covers--makes for a choppy listening experience, rather than a smooth transition from one song to the next. And "Little Drummer Boy" makes for an odd choice as a "bonus track", further disrupting the flow of the album--again, sung well enough, but why is it even here? (On Best Buy's edition of this CD, you can use a code to download another bonus track, Hall & Oates' "One on One" as remade by Jordan; QVC includes a 5 song bonus disc including acoustic versions of certain tracks from the album.) All in all, a good CD but not worthy of Jordan at his best, in days past.

I can't believe I'm listening again Jordan Knight's songs.
He has a great voice and is getting better. I'm love with Jordan Knight's Love Songs. I'm 27 years old and I'm still a fan of Jordan Knight since he was a member of The New Kids On The Block. It's a lovely and fantastic cd. I think one of the best cd I've ever got this year. I hope Bryan Adams doesn't read this message because I'm a baddie, too.

Jordan Knight always gets me!!!,

Whoa!!! One more time Jordan surprises me. This cd is just adorable. The type of cd you listen it all while doing anything in your life. In the car, cleaning the house, making love...
Jordan was known by the New Kids fans for being the best singer of the group. He proves that the adulthood made him better in that cd. Really good vocals, extraordinary melodies and beautiful songs, most of it that we, children from the 80's, know so well. And plus, we have some new songs too. Beautiful songs, I must say. He took my favorites from "The Fix" and put here. He sings new balads too, and one of them has a guest: Deborah Gibson. Good vocals too, well blended with Jordan, proving that we were not totally death in the 80's. We used to have good music people, and I guess Jordan knew that. Kisses from JulyN

Remember the 80s?,
This review is from: Love Songs (Audio CD)
Even if you don't remember the 80s this album will let you know what you missed. Jordan's voice has only improved with age, and his soulful renditions of 80s classics like "Careless Whisper" and "Waiting for a girl like you" combined with several original recordings make Love Songs a CD you need to have in your collection.

Love It!!!!,

I love this album but who am I kidding. Anything Jordan Knight does is pure genius. I made my husband (well...my husband until Jordan comes around) buy Love Songs as soon as it became available. I haven't stopped listening since. The duet with Debbie Gibson is a wonderful, original song. Keep it up Jordan.
