5.0 out of 5 stars Oops!.....Jim Brickman Does it Again!!!
Once more, Jim Brickman has recorded and produced a cd that is sure to be a big hit among all of his legions of fans. As always, there is something for everyone on this cd. 2.0 out of 5 stars Where have I heard this before?
Before I delve into this review, let me say that I really like Jim Brickman. I have the complete set of his CDs, and I just purchased tickets for his upcoming concert. So, why don't I like this new CD? Simply said, it sounds like his creative steam is running out. Compare this CD with any of his previous releases, and what do you hear? The same chord progressions,...

Once more, Jim Brickman has recorded and produced a cd that is sure to be a big hit among all of his legions of fans. As always, there is something for everyone on this cd. The smooth instrumentals are soft and relaxing {hence, the reason for the name lullabies in the title of the cd} and the vocals are upbeat and at the same time romantic. He has a tendency to showcase the sometimes hidden talent of various artists. Amy Sky, from Canada, has a soft and romantic voice on "Love Never Fails" who will surely develop a following here in the USA, and Jane Krakowski, formerly of Ally McBeal, who turns in a beautiful vocal performance on "You", the final track of the cd. Not to be overlooked is Jim Brickman's vocals on "I See The Moon" With each new cd, his vocals become more strong and confident. Many will probably say that all of his cd's begin to sound alike after awhile, but for the true Brickman fan, there will always be an unmistakeable individuality to his music that endears him to his many, many fans. And as a side note, Jim Brickman is truly one of the only performers that I know of who's concerts sound exactly like his cd's and the cd's are exactly like the concerts, proving that you do not need 20 or 30 musicians, nor pyrotechnics to produce a wonderful show or cd.There really is beauty in simple solo piano music.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pleasant piano playing, August 28, 2002
This review is from: Love Songs & Lullabies (Audio CD)
My wife heard Mr. Brickman during his appearance on "Fox & Friends" one morning, and decided that this CD would make a good birthday present for me, so she bought it. She has good taste, and I enjoy listening to this music very much. All of the compositions are well done, and the piano playing is soothing and relaxing. My favorite tune is "Love Never Fails", and the vocals on it, by Amy Sky, are wonderful. This is the type of CD that you want to have playing when you are spending time alone with your special someone, either driving in your auto, or just relaxing at home before a roaring fire, sipping some "bubbly"!

5.0 out of 5 stars Peace in a crazy world, December 16, 2002

I just love Jim Brickman!!! He is such a talented pianist!!! I saw him in concert just last week and met him in person. He is such a nice person! Anyway enough of that. I just love this cd! Especially on the songs that Tracy Silverman joins him in on! It is so nice to hear music where people aren't always yelling or mad at somebody. And thank goodness you know that there is no profanity in his music. When I play his music I get so wrapped up in it I lose all sense of time. His music is also very thought provoking. When I hear it I tend to do alot of soul searching. As I play his cd's no matter how stressed out or mad at the world I am it brings me to another place. It brings me to a place of calm and I begin to unwind and let my cares drift away. I highly recomend this cd not just for the music but because it is a great way to handle stress. What more can I say? Buy it!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Brickman creates from the heart again!, August 6, 2002

Having just become a Jim Brickman less than 2 years ago when a friend took me his holiday show in Chicago, I have grown to be quite fond of the man and his music. His latest, Love Songs & Lullabies, shows that the creativity of Mr. Brickman is flowing. This CD is in conjunction with his PBS special running this month. I was moved by "Love Never Fails" and feel that this will be a song chosen to be sung at weddings. Jim's talent is showcased when he has an orchestra behind him. In, "Course of Love," this is evident. On, "Dreamland," we are treated to not only hearing Tracy Silverman on the keyboards, but Tracy's wife, Thea Suits, on the flute. "You," sung by Ally McBeal star Jane Krakowski is so uplifting to me. I know I will be singing it to my sweetheart. Thank you, Jim, for allowing us to experience your talent!

I don't know what to say. He is amazing, his music is amazing and every cd is amazing. There is nothing bad to say about any of his music.
I am totally in love with his style, grace and workmanship.
This cd, like the rest of his, is grand.
If you love the piano, soft music, falling in love and Jim Brickman; then go out and grab this cd. It is worth the money.

While the music in this collection is not as inspiring as his last album SIMPLE THINGS, I still found this one very relaxing, emotional and done with the flow that he is so good at! My only complaint was that I wish he would have had one or two more songs with vocals since they add so much to his songs!!! But, his piano playing is just incredible and he makes it look so easy! Way to go Jim! Jane Krakowski has an awesome voice also!

5.0 out of 5 stars This one is special, August 16, 2005
This review is from: Love Songs & Lullabies (Audio CD)
My only exposure to Jim Brickman prior to this CD had been "The Gift", which I think is fantastic. I bought "Love Songs & Lullabies" as I anticipated the birth of our long-awaited first child, and it did not disappoint. Although I particularly enjoy the instrumentals, the song "Beautiful" spoke to me in a special way as I nursed my daughter and thought about what she meant to me. I still cry every time I hear it. I have many "lullabies" CDs, but this one far surpasses all.

5.0 out of 5 stars A peaceful album, great for soothing a baby to sleep, December 3, 2003

This review is from: Love Songs & Lullabies (Audio CD)
We purchased this for our infant to have music as she fell asleep, and two years later, this CD is still the only bedtime music she wants to hear.

I'm not a big fan of his songs that contain lyrics -- there's no need for them when the piano playing is so excellent -- but it does provide some variety for those who do not wish to hear only instrumentals.

Highly recommended!
