Michael Bolton is a singer who really enters into the music he sings. And I think that this is the secret, the main secret, of his appeal and continued success.

Again, he presents his fans with what they want. The appeal is more to the female listener. His powerful voice and contrasting emotion instinctively draws the gals.

And when he concentrates on what he does best and what he appears to especially enjoy the most expressing heart felt passion through a selection of love songs, he pleases these fans.

This isn't a great CD compared to other singers, but it's definitely better than adequate. Quite entertaining and recommended.

i've been a michael bolton fan since 1987...way back to the "that's what love is all about" single, and i am glad it finally found a place in this collection, being discarded from the official 1985/95 greatest hits. michael has got the best writing skills when it comes down to love, affairs and relationships-related tunes. the collection proves it through and through...some tracks included here might have reached the SINGLE status if only given a better chance by the record company ("Now that i found you", "New love" or even "In the arms of love")...significatively enough all tracks have been c-written by Diane Warren - and taht's when michael gets at his best! If you own as i do all of michael's CDs, you will be happy to purchase this one for the sheer reason that SONY has issued the hard-to-find track "Once in a lifetime", which was part of the Only You 1994 movie. The tune follows in the steps of much of the material written for the "Time, Love & Tenderness" and "The One Thing". SUPERB! I would have rated this collection a 5 star if only the blokes at SONY/LEGACY would have added the "Love is the power" single from Michael's holiday season album "This is the time"... At any rate. if u love to feel emotions run free, go n get it... it's worth each tear you will cry as you listen it.

to describe the magnitude of bolton's voice with words would be an error of almost biblical proportions. instead i will simply say think of a nuclear holocaust. that is a nuclear holocaust of soul . for those who think that bolton has gotten too artsy-fartsy and obstuse, let me implore you to stick with this album. it won't come to you, you have to go to it.

Ideal for Michael Bolton fans who enjoy love songs, Micheal Bolton fans who don't particularly enjoy love songs but like Michael Bolton so much it doesn't matter, love song enthusiasts who wouldn't normally listen to Michael Bolton but are prepared to make an exception if he is singing love songs, or for anyone wishing to lay a trap for a Michael Bolton fan who already owns Michael Bolton: Greatest Hits 1985 -1995.

This CD is so beautiful. The music makes you want to float on air. Michael Bolton does not have to worry about any of the negative criticism about him. He has everything that it takes to make it. I will always listen to his music, and I hope that he keeps on recording beautiful music for all people to enjoy.

I love this CD and listen all of the time. Not only is Michael's voice superb, but the choice of songs is simply a gorgeous listen. This is one of my favorite CDs.

The love songs on this CD have been the most beautiful ones so far.But they are much more than love songs. And the singer is much more than a singer.I always find something precious in it, very special.We need "a third ear" to enjoy it. That's great! Once you've learned Michael Bolton's singing, you've held the hands of a close friend, a true friend. Then you'd like to hold them tight,never let them go and make it lifelong. Even you're of a very different language,culture,nation and age,his voice never prevents you from finding and understanding. Somtimes the words in the songs seem so flat. But there will be one day, they break open with endless meaning. And you'll surprise yourself with your own understanding. That's a miracle! This is an ancient saying(in Chinese): High mountains, running waters; understanding ears, no boundaries. You'll find it on this CD yourself.

Being a fan of Michael Bolton's music its easy to like.After listening to his arrangment of love songs on the cd,the emotion of love came through. The arms of Love song ended all the songs on the cd nicely.

I went somewhere a few weeks ago and only young people were there. Their ages ranged between sixteen to no more than twenty two. I found them listening to Michael Bolton.
I asked "Wait a minute whose CD is this?"
One of them told me which one of them owned the CD. I looked at her, she is no more than eighteen - just graduated. I said to one of them, "Ah, but can you tell me the name of the singer."
One of the young men smiled and replied, "Michael Bolton. Don't everyone listen to him?"
I replied "Yes, but..."
He interrupted me, "You think we are two young to listen to him."
"Well, I am surprised."
Still smiling he said, "Mrs....., his songs are good, when songs are good they transcend generations."
"I guess so." I responded with a shake of my head. "Do you want a copy?" He asked.
I said "No, I like originals. For me it must be the real thing or nothing." I did what I came to do and I left the young people listening to their Michael Bolton CD.
To myself I said, "This man has really transcended generations, women who could be my mother were listening to him while I was a child. Now young people younger than me are enjoying his songs."
When I got to my vehicle, I inserted my key into the ignition and as the engine turned, one of my Michael Bolton CDs electrified through my speakers. I drove off smiling, my eyes partly closed. That man Michael Bolton is just too sweet. like good wine, he gets better and better. No wonder people are stealing my CDs.
I have other CDs covering most of the songs on this particular CD, there are two songs on this one that I do not have though and I am thinking about buying it. "In the arms of love" sounds so sweet I want it. Even when the man sings soul I close my eyes and forget he is white with the most beautiful eyes. Hey, listen to "Tired of Being Alone" close your eyes and his soul comes from a heart as red blooded as my own. He is hot, hot, hot!

The 14 gems featured in the re-release provide an awesome collection of the superstar's hits. These include: When A Man Loves A Woman, How Am I Supposed to Live Without You, and In The Arms Of Love. The CD makes for great listening and reminiscing. Michael's greatness shines in these all-time favorites, and this collection is sure to please. Add it to your collection.
