Regina Belle has been around a long time, and has got better like a fine wine! From 1987 to 1995 era, this album is packed with quality songs from the velvet voiced songstress. Collaborating with the best in the r&b world, this album oozes class, but dont take my word for it!! Check it out yourself why this immensely talented Lady has been around for so many years in a world of one hit wonders, and pop idols that last 6 months.... Her music is timeless !

Regina Belle is a unique and truly talented songstress who easily bridges the gap between Jazz Vocals and Soul. This collection serves as anice retrospective of her best Columbia tracks. Like Anita Baker and Sade, Regina has chosen to continue making real music--and she deserves our respect and admiration for doing so.

Please, just listen to the track "After The Love Has Lost Its Shine " !!,
By Jules1 (Manhattan,N.Y.) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Love Songs (Audio CD)
Regina Belle has quietly built a loyal urban following by doing something you rarely see minor players do anymore - gigging. And not just the package tours with artists of similar status, she does those too, but also makes herself available for fraternal gatherings, company parties, clubs, halls, and elaborate weddings and family reunions, unlike some artists who only go out on TV at Oprah's or on pampered company sponsored tours that coincide with a current release. If Regina's last recording was yesterday, she'd still perform live, because she's a superb , classy entertainer first and a recording artist second. I have just read some press clips on line..." Regina Belle raised her velvety voice and belted out a gospel tune that left the Atlanta Hilton ballroom in awed silence. For the Grammy-winning recording artist, the song may not have been as snazzy as "Baby Come to Me," "A Whole New World" or her other smash hits. But the audience - a biennial gathering of 165 cousins, uncles, aunts and other relatives - made the performance unforgettably poignant. "In here, I am not a star. I am one member of an extraordinary family," she said. "And this is no regular meeting. It's an extraordinary reunion...." Isn't it fantastic ? "Love Songs " features some of her highest achievers, from "Baby Come to Me" to "Show Me the Way ", "So Many Tears".... They're not mega hits (which implies Top five pop smashes), but they are pearls: fine,ground-breaking ,classy, well-constructed, smooth urban delicacies with upscale arrangements and top-notch singing and phrasing. Please , just listen to the heartbreaking track "After The Love Has Lost Its Shine ". If you are not moved by her out-of-this world interpretation ,then I would suggest you to see a doctor. Also you may make your own mind ,comparing it to what you are currently seeing on TV 'American Idol ".....
