My daughter (almost 3 years) and I have also read "Splat the Cat," but we prefer the sequel "Love, Splat." It is a funny story, about butterflies, love and of course hilarious kitty encounters. There are plenty of fun details for both kids and parents:

- did you know that cats like fish bone wallpaper?
- did you know that cats use a real toilet?
- did you know that cats have mouse pets (riding bikes)?
- did you know that the street names have real meaning?

You can not but love Splat. He is perhaps a bit clumsy, but so adorable. My daughter loves his books and keeps asking for more. Now there you have it: a winner! I love the book because it never gets boring (even if you have to read it over and over). My daughter and I give it four thumbs up!

This has to be the silly little cat ever. My kids just loved this book...now, if I could only get them to stop pulling each others ears and poking each others belly:)

My grandaughter first saw this book in kindergarten- one of her 1st library books. She asked me if I would purchase it for her- so I did!

My daughter loves all the Rob Scotton books, splat and russel. I love the illistrations and the stories are fun.

My three year old granddaughter really enjoys this book. She asks me to read it to her every Friday when she comes over. The story is very enjoyable and the illustrations are fantastic. The book arrived a few days after I placed the order.

Splat is the most adorable cat ever! I am studying to be a teacher and this book will absolutely be used in my classroom. He is so kid-friendly and his feelings are relatable. This book would be great for Valentine's Day, entertainment, or to talk about relationships. This book, as well as the other Splat books are a must for any teacher or child's library. I subbed for a kindergarten class a few days before Valentine's Day and they were glued to this book.

This is the third Splat the Cat book I've bought for my 2 year old son, and it may be the best! It lives up to the other Splat books - well written with great illustrations. My son has chosen this as his bedtime story every night for two weeks. Can't recommend it highly enough. Just make sure when reading it to pull your child's ears and poke their belly at the appropriate time!

I just love Rob Scotton's illustration work. His attention to detail is just wonderful. And the story - it's great too, and dare I give it away, lets just say it has a happy ending. :)

Splat's vulnerable personality and appealing appearance will win your heart! I've used this book with groups of 4 year olds and groups of 8 year olds and both classes quickly caught on to Splat's dilemma and personality. The older kids were immediately alert to Spike's role of the eogtistitical bully. The 4 year olds were captivated by Splat's repeated failure to match Spike.
I bought both this and the other Splat book for my persoanl resources because I knew that these will be checked out frequently at our public library!
I hope more Splat books are written!

Splat returns in this lovely sequel. This book can easily be read as a stand alone.
Splat has Valentine's Day card for all in his class especially one for Kitten. But wait, Spike like kitten too and his card is MUCH bigger. Splat loses hope but Kitten steps in with her card for Splat.
There is not a large color palate here but it isn't necessary. Splat's emotions shine through and his big heart shows.This would be a good book to read to a young child.
