Book Description

Regan Hunter came to tennis late in life, but she's worked hard to become one of the world's top players. Beating the odds has made her unstoppable on the court and neurotically controlling off of it. So when her manager hires a new coach, a has-been who left the sport after a scandal, Regan wants him gone, fast.

Ben Percy, a former Grand Slam winner, is well aware of Regan's reputation for driving coaches away—usually screaming. But working with the notoriously mercurial Regan could be just the break he needs to take his career to the next level, and he's never been one to scare easily. He must stick to only one rule: hands off Regan.

Keeping his distance from Regan is more difficult than Ben ever imagined. Behind her tough, sexy exterior is a woman he wants to get to know better. And Regan feels a connection with her patient, easy-on-the-eyes coach that's hard to ignore. But with the biggest championship of all on the line, romance may be completely out of bounds…

5.0 out of 5 stars Ben April 14, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
I loved Ben and I loved how he was around Regan, I especially loved the reactions he had towards her, "okay," he croaked, dragging his hand out from under hers on the pretense of hugging the hem of his shorts - which were rapidly becoming too tight in the groin. He cleared his throat and tried again. "I'll be there." Regan I really did love her she knew what she wanted and wasn't afraid to go after it, "you're the only one I want," she whispered. "Now kiss me." I mean on the tennis court she's confident but not so much off, "she felt her face flush, at once thrilled and made shy by approval that showed in every part of his body. "I'm really bad at sexy talk. Pretend I just said something sultry and clever about being a dirty girl who needs to get cleaned up, okay?" I mean she's also the type of person to blurt what's on her mind, "she turned to him, still holding the magazine, unsure what to make of this strange development. "You jerk off to photos of me looking like an angry bit**?" I enjoyed reading this book there was romance, entertainment and laugh out loud moments.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent sports romance July 5, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I loved this story! Regan and Ben are both well-written characters. The heroine is difficult in the beginning. She's prone to tantrums and accustomed to having things her way. However, I enjoyed seeing the heroine's growth as her relationship with the hero develops. As a fan of game, I appreciated the authentic depiction of the tennis scenes. The author struck a nice balance between sports and romance. I devoured this story in two days and I look forward to reading more from Rebecca.

3.0 out of 5 stars A fun read June 20, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
Last year I read and reviewed Rebecca Crowley's The Striker's Chance and absolutely loved how she weaved sports and sizzling romance together with great characters so when I was approved for this one I was so excited to read it.

I thought it would be similar to The Striker's Chance, and in a couple ways there were similarities, both books had some awesome male leads with women who were a little high strung but where the female lead in The Striker's chance had some great qualities about her, I found myself struggling with Regan in this one. I found her to be to rude, spoiled and self centered. She threw temper tantrums and I didn't like how her frugal upbringing caused her stress now that she was rich etc. She was a little too much "Woe is me" for me to really, really like. However in the end, I did like her because she was starting to mellow thanks to Ben. Even though for me she didn't deserve him as much as she thought she did.

Ben though, was fabulous. I've got to give it to the guy though. He was able to take all that Regan threw at him and he didn't even deserve a quarter of it. I thought he was incredibly sweet and I liked his sense of humour a lot but thought he needed to grow a pair and not be so calm and silent. I wish hed spoken his mind more but thought that he served his purpose in balancing out Regan's snarkiness.

I thought the story was good, but because I feel like Regan was over done that it lost some of the potential of becoming a really good romance. I just thought there was too much needless drama for my tastes. The good thing was that the author really excelled at creating chemistry between the Ben and Regan and trust me it got quite steamy in parts.

4.0 out of 5 stars Love Ben! June 7, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
Regan has a shell of fire and ice and an explosive temper. She's also insecure and anxiety ridden. She's hard to get to know but it's worth the effort. Ben is an absolute sweetheart. He's thoughtful, kind, supportive, an ass-kicker when necessary. Ben sees right through Regan's shell, sees her passion, strength and determination as well as the vulnerability that she tries desperately to hide. They have chemistry, on and off the court, but there are many obstacles standing between them and a happily ever after. Crowley does an excellent job of conveying the challenge and excitement of the game, even to a tennis luddite like me.
