A fantastic cd from a group that ages like fine wine.,

I first bought this cd when I was working in a record store a few years ago. I had the added advantage of being able to listen to cd's before I bought them, and I absolutely loved this one from first listen. I liked their older tunes, but didn't even know they were still around until I heard this cd. Russell Tompkins' falsetto voice is a beautiful, and clear as it was when they were lighting up the charts in the 70's with such Thom Bell and Linda Creed songs as "Betcha By Golly Wow, Break Up to Make Up, and You Make Me Feel Brand New." One of the other members, I'm not sure which one sings lead here, gets to shine on a beautiful ballad called "You're My Woman, You're My Lady." I find myself singing that song in the shower like I would an old Marvin Gaye Motown song. Aside from that one, Tompkins shines on songs like "Me-U=Blue, Love Talk, and "Hang Your Teardrops Up to Dry." If you buy this cd, and I highly recommend that you do, you should purchase their next cd called "Love Is Back In Style." It is excellent as well. I wish they weren't on such a small label (Amherst Records), and that they were promoted more. Alas, old acts like them don't get airplay anymore. Acts like Chuck Jackson, and the Chi-Lites are still putting out cd's as well, but get no airplay or recognition.

THIS ALBUM WAS AS CLASSIC, RICH & SOULFUL AS THE 70'S MUSIC GENERATED BY THIS SENSATIONAL ENTOURAGE. I WISH THAT THE CD (BETTER YET) ALL THEIR CD'S LISTED LYRICS AND A PERHAPS A MINI-HISTORY OF THE GROUPS START & MOVEMENTS. NOTEWORTHY, IS THAT ONLY 2 OR 3 SONGS AT BEST GET AIRTIME. IS RUSSELL THOMPKINS JR STILL A MEMBER OF THIS GROUP? IF NOT HOW DO I FIND OUT WHAT HE'S DOING SECULARLY?

Well I am 19, but as far as I can remember I loved the Stylistics. Great CD highly recomeded. Too bad they weren't well marketed they shoulda taken off more in the 90s.
