Not bad, but not sure it's worth it either,

This book has a ton of questions to ask your partner, and for each of you to answer. Some of them are very helpful and insightful, showing you a new side to your partner or giving you a glimpse of things you never knew about them before, which opens up new topics of discussion. Some are more simply entertaining or give you something new that you didn't know about your partner, but it's not anything huge. Then there are some questions that seem just plain silly. The silly questions (The circus act that most reminds me of my job is...) make it hard to take the rest of the book seriously, especially if your partner isn't very tolerant of silliness (or as they refer to it "stupidity").
I think the best use for this book, would be for a single person to have and flip through, grabbing a few quick questions to keep in mind to ask their current date. For couples in a long term relationship, there may be a few useful questions, but not many.

I have met Gary Chapman, and he signed the books I ordered here on Amazon, one was a gift to my husband who is deployed overseas. I ordered Love Talks, to send my husband daily emails with the Questions to continue to stimulate eachother being seperate. This is a great tool to stay connected with your loved one. :-)

Questions vary - some are faith based, some are based on current events (what happened today), some are based on historical events (things that happened earlier in your life). Great questions, and you can use them any way you like. We randomly picked one each day, and had a lot of fun discovering new things about each other...even after 11 years of marriage!

Excellent conversation starters for dates. We've been married 3 years and I still learned new things. Fits nicely in my purse, too!

Not useful for people who have been together for a long time,

My husband and I have been together since we were teenagers. Dated 6 years, married for 11 years. This book would be good for couples just getting together or who had a whirwind romance. Not good for us couples who already know everything about a persons past. I was hoping it would be something to help us better communicate our feelings to each other but it was wasted money for me. It's more of a "get to know all about you" thing.

This book is an awesome way to spark discussion with your mate and to find out things you may not know. It is not intended to be comprehensive but just a "fun" thing to do to get to know each other better. We have enjoyed the book very much and give it often as a gift. If you ever get the chance to see Dr Chapman speak at a marriage enrichment weekend, he is awesome.

Unfortunately, the 101 questions only touch the tip of the iceberg when it comes to what you need to know about your mate or potential mate. I did find 1000 questions at the site questionsforcouples. com |
