Book Description

Camden Lane is three months away from her wedding to Preston Donnelly. From a rich family, she is expected to marry the handsome doctor and "make something of herself" after taking a year off after medical school. One fateful day, she decides to go with her friend, Natalie, into the north Georgia mountains to hike near a waterfall. This excursion will change her life forever.

Sam Steele is a hard working farm owner who goes on his first date with Jenny to hike the falls. When tragedy strikes, his life will be changed forever too.

This unique love story will have you rooting for two people who had no idea how their paths would cross in life. Can Camden learn to let go of her family's preconceived notions about others and what she should be doing with her life? Can Sam overcome tragedy and get his life back on track?

If you are looking for a sweet and unique love story, Love In The Falls is it!

Here's a real reader review from Rachel Hanna's Facebook fan page:

"Yaaay!!
I just finished reading Love In The Falls!!! BEST love story!! I
have enjoyed all 3 of your books!! I believe you are my new favorite
author. :) I love reading about the Georgia mountains (maybe because
I'm a Georgia Girl). I love the love behind the stories. I love that
they are not trashy or include too much drama. I love how they do not
go on and on with twists and turns so that I get lost. I love that
these books draw you in from the beginning and keep you glued to the
story!! THANK YOU THANK YOU! Can't wait for more!!"

Here is a small sample of this book, which is 28,926 words:

The mountain air was crisp and cool as Natalie and Camden got out of her car. Camden was happy to be able to stretch her legs after the long car ride. She loved Natalie's car in the city, but it wasn't a great vehicle to take on such a long trip. At five foot six inches tall, Camden wasn't exactly a tall person, but she had felt folded up inside of the Volkswagen for two hours.

The foliage in the mountains had already changed to shades of yellow, orange and gold which were breathtaking in their beauty. Camden remembered driving up to see the fall foliage with one of her high school boyfriends years ago. The mixture of colors was unlike anything she had ever seen.

Camden took in a deep breath of the mountain air as she closed her eyes.

"The city never smells this good," she said to Natalie with a smile.

"I know. It's invigorating, isn't it?" Natalie said looking up at the trees in front of them. "Ready to hike?" she asked shutting the car door.

"Yep. Let's do it," Camden said as the pair started walking toward the paved pathway. Just then, the women heard a large truck pull into the parking lot. Out of it came a tiny blond woman with a miniskirt and a handsome and very tall man.

"Wow. Look at him. He's very good looking," Natalie said with a grin. "A little stubble, tousled hair, cowboy boots, tight jeans..."

"Nat! Think of Bruce!" Camden said giggling as she softly punched Natalie's arm.

"Hey, I'm not the one who's engaged!" Natalie said with a belly laugh. Her laugh was so loud that the man noticed them, and his eyes connected with Camden's. For a split second, she felt an electric shock rock through her body.

"Mornin', ladies," he said tipping his well-worn baseball cap. His gray-blue eyes cut right through the cold Georgia air.

"Good morning," Camden said quickly as she turned and walked toward the pathway. Natalie struggled to keep up with her.

"What was that about?" Natalie said as she caught up to Camden.

"Nothing. Just ready to hike." Camden wasn't sure what that strange feeling was in the pit of her stomach, but she knew if she looked at the handsome stranger for one more moment, she might be tempted to find out.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sweet Story, Some Head-Hopping October 5, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
3.5 stars. I read this book after downloading it weeks ago and completely forgetting what it was about. I was surprise immediately because I've been to the North Georgia mountains numerous times and walked the falls. I've also visited farms similar to the one described in the book, so picturing the area came easily. The plot of this book is simple but effectively carried out, and I came away thinking what a sweet story. I loved the characters, that Camden didn't know what she wanted, that she was in love with Sam. I loved Sam's sense of humor. The predictability of it did not take away from the story at all for me as the positive feelings I had about it overwhelmed that. That said, there were numerous problems with head-hopping, moving from one point of view to another within the same scene. This seemed to be a repetitive problem throughout the story and with a little work could have been eliminated. I also did not care for the sexual detail. For me, it detracts from the story itself and could have been handled differently. Overall, a story that was a nice, quick read for an afternoon.

3.0 out of 5 stars Love In The Falls September 27, 2012
By Jessica
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Doctor Camden Lane has met up with her friend for some hiking and much needed girl time when a handsome stranger named Sam requires medical attention on the trail. Camden does what she can to help. Setting her unhappy life aside, she becomes Sam's companion as he recovers. As her family tries to force her back into the fold, Camden and Sam are exploring a sweet relationship. Did fate set them up?

I thought that Camden was a likable character, self aware and determined. I would have liked to have had more of Sam's POV, and have gotten to know him better. We were treated to a little bit of Sam's POV in the beginning, but not when it would have had the most emotional impact.

I think the lack of Sam's POV really hurts this and it creates an unbalanced story. It's an emotional storyline that doesn't deliver the feelings of the person having the emotions. Sam is the one dealing with a trauma, the side of the relationship with all the meat on it, while Camden is only an observer. That's not to say that Camden doesn't have a story to tell, she does, but it's not on par with Sam's.

Despite the fact that I feel this is missing something vital to the story, I did still enjoy this for what it is. Two people that fate has brought together, made to save each other. It's a very sweet story.

I loved this book! It's a wonderful love story. Not too short, not too long. I was sucked in from the beginning and couldn't put it down. I love that it is set in the Georgia mountains (Maybe because I'm a Georgia girl) and I love that it is romantic without being trashy. I have loved all of Rachel Hanna's books and can't wait for more.

2.0 out of 5 stars missing something! November 19, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I will say that the story itself was great! It had soo much potential-

I was looking forward to reading the book and I know my rating is rather harsh, but here are my reasons:

-I could NOT connect with the characters.
-I still ask myself who the main characters were- Other than love at first sight -- it was lacking in understanding how they both ticked-
- all the characters had very little emotions- when they finally did have some -- they were gone within a few short lines-
-It felt hurried (short) and way to easy ----like why her fiance didn't fight for her? Why was her mom so cold/hot? Dad only had what two lines in the book?
- While the pase of the story went fairly fast- I felt disconnected-

2.0 out of 5 stars Love in the Falls January 19, 2013
By Kathy W
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The writer needs to recognize that everything does not need to be spelled out for the reader. There is just to much information & it doesn't allow the reader to get lost in the story. The storyline seemed incomplete. A woman on the verge of marriage goes off to care for a man who had a stroke? None of the characters were developed doit was very hard to feel involved in the story. I found it tedious to read.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Good Story! October 3, 2012
By Galatea
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Rachel Hanna tells a good story. A story about two people who meet by chance or, you could say, fate brought them together! Dr Camden Lane supports Sam, a stranger who requires medical treatment on the same walking trail she and her friend had taken. Camden finds herself really attracted to Sam, falls in love with him and chooses to leave a lifestyle she is living in order to please her family ...

The story is just the right length: I read it in one sitting ... I didn't want to put it down. I'm certainly looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

2.0 out of 5 stars Eh February 22, 2013

This was suuuch an easy read and it was okay. Of course, the romance was there and all that but I didn't really care about the main characters and their thoughts or actions. There was a climatic moment where I felt like I really didn't know what was going to happen, and a sudden death, so I give props to the author, Rachel Hanna, for adding an unpredictable twist to a romance story. If you have a moment, read it. But I wouldn't put it at the top of your list
