Book Description

LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR... AND THEN SOME! When Jesus tells us to love our neighbors, he doesn't just mean the strange guy across the street (you know the one). He's talking about our neighbors on this planet---the people we see every day...and even those we don't see. Especially the people who don't get a lot of love. But how do we love them? Love This! shows you who your neighbors are, why they need your love, and tangible ways you can demonstrate that love to them. For example: How can you show love to people who are: * Homeless? * Addicted? * Sick? * Old? * Of other races? * From other countries? * Your enemies? Love This! contains real-life stories of people like you who've found ways to love their neighbors. It will challenge you to make a difference in your own world by loving the people who are often ignored or unloved.

LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR… AND THEN SOME!

When Jesus tells us to love our neighbors, he doesn’t just mean the strange guy across the street (you know the one). He’s talking about our neighbors on this planet—the people we see every day…and even those we don’t see. Especially the people who don’t get a lot of love.

But how do we love them?

Love This! shows you who your neighbors are, why they need your love, and tangible ways you can demonstrate that love to them. For example: How can you show love to people who are:

• Homeless?

• Addicted?

• Sick?

• Old?

• Of other races?

• From other countries?

• Your enemies?

Love This! contains real-life stories of people like you who’ve found ways to love their neighbors. It will challenge you to make a difference in your own world by loving the people who are often ignored or unloved. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

More About the Author

I started writing as a response to issues I saw in the faith community. From LOVE THIS, a book on helping people love like Jesus loves, to DUPLICATE THIS, a book to ask a lot of faith questions; I've found writing a therapeutic way to identify ideas. Through my writing I hope to continue raising awareness to taboo issues, and help people ask hard questions about difficult problems. The latest EXPOSE book is reaching parents and youth leaders around the world, as they begin a conversation with teenagers in their communities. Thanks for continuing to read the books I'm working on as I continue to re-imagine the Christian Worldview.

5.0 out of 5 stars Impossible not to Love This, March 20, 2007
By
This review is from: Love This!: Learning to Make It a Way of Life, Not Just a Word (invert) (Paperback)
Andy Braner's book provides a concrete look into an abstract idea: Love your neighbor. This is a concept that seems to be easier in word than practice. Braner helps to rectify that. His real-life examples challenge readers to look beyond the bare minimum they can do to love the world and to really 'give ourselves' to others. He includes examples from his own life, and it is all backed up with scripture, giving the book it's legitimacy. Braner did an excellent job creating an easy-to-read book that will truly inspire your teen to step out and love people, no matter where they are, no matter the circumstances.

Andy Braner is with out a doubt, an incredibly passionate speaker. But this book makes Braner's heart on life obvious. I love listening to him tell stories and make the things he talks about more real. His stories make the hard things you're reading about hurt more. Thus prompting you to take action. I also love that Braner wrote the book just as if he were having a conversation with you.

However, the conversation topics in the book are the hard parts. Right now, I am glad I read the book. But honestly, if you like living suburban life, looking out for yourself more often than not, ignoring all the hurt and pain in the world, and being irritated that your two year old truck has dirt on it, than do not read this book. I promise that after reading this book you will look at life a little differently. And if it's stuff you already knew, then it's time for the re-fresher course. Hang on and bring a highlighter.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing, fun, and thought provoking read!!, May 3, 2007
This review is from: Love This!: Learning to Make It a Way of Life, Not Just a Word (invert) (Paperback)
Love This! is an AWESOME read! It's one of those books that once you read it, it just gets stuck in your head! I've come across many situations where I'm confronted with a tough person or situation, and something from Braner's book jumps into my head to remind me to love m neighbor (no matter who they are). What a great book to have stuck in your head! I love being able to immediatly apply what I've learned from that book...we are surrounded by neighbors who may be hard to love, but Love This! not only gives you encouragement to love all, but also practical ways to do so. This is a must read for all Christians who want to SHOW Christ's love to the world!
