5.0 out of 5 stars Impossible not to Love This, March 20, 2007
By
This review is from: Love This!: Learning to Make It a Way of Life, Not Just a Word (invert) (Paperback)
Andy Braner's book provides a concrete look into an abstract idea: Love your neighbor. This is a concept that seems to be easier in word than practice. Braner helps to rectify that. His real-life examples challenge readers to look beyond the bare minimum they can do to love the world and to really 'give ourselves' to others. He includes examples from his own life, and it is all backed up with scripture, giving the book it's legitimacy. Braner did an excellent job creating an easy-to-read book that will truly inspire your teen to step out and love people, no matter where they are, no matter the circumstances.

5.0 out of 5 stars Won't be the last time I read it., March 19, 2007

Andy Braner is with out a doubt, an incredibly passionate speaker. But this book makes Braner's heart on life obvious. I love listening to him tell stories and make the things he talks about more real. His stories make the hard things you're reading about hurt more. Thus prompting you to take action. I also love that Braner wrote the book just as if he were having a conversation with you.

However, the conversation topics in the book are the hard parts. Right now, I am glad I read the book. But honestly, if you like living suburban life, looking out for yourself more often than not, ignoring all the hurt and pain in the world, and being irritated that your two year old truck has dirt on it, than do not read this book. I promise that after reading this book you will look at life a little differently. And if it's stuff you already knew, then it's time for the re-fresher course. Hang on and bring a highlighter.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing, fun, and thought provoking read!!, May 3, 2007
This review is from: Love This!: Learning to Make It a Way of Life, Not Just a Word (invert) (Paperback)
Love This! is an AWESOME read! It's one of those books that once you read it, it just gets stuck in your head! I've come across many situations where I'm confronted with a tough person or situation, and something from Braner's book jumps into my head to remind me to love m neighbor (no matter who they are). What a great book to have stuck in your head! I love being able to immediatly apply what I've learned from that book...we are surrounded by neighbors who may be hard to love, but Love This! not only gives you encouragement to love all, but also practical ways to do so. This is a must read for all Christians who want to SHOW Christ's love to the world!

5.0 out of 5 stars Book Review, April 20, 2007
This review is from: Love This!: Learning to Make It a Way of Life, Not Just a Word (invert) (Paperback)
Andy's book is a great tool in my opinion on how to activate ourselfs to get out and love people. He uses great stories and insight to get us off our tailend and start doing something. There are a lot of homeless around my neighborhood and I totally understood where he was coming from with his stories and challenges. This book would be great if you are wanting to know how to love others like Jesus did. He shows us why and how we can love, and really do it with a full heart. I would recommend this book also to small groups as a great study tool and then at the end of each chapter make it a point to be active and love those people that you just read about. I think this is a wise read for high school students up to adults! Good book.

Love This! is a phenominal read packed with useful, hands-on material that Christians of any age can use right away. It is divided into clear and concise categories that make it ideal for a week-to-week study. Braner focusses on loving groups of people I see everyday but never even consider reaching out to. Every idea is heavily backed with scripture and cannot be ignored or passed over. Again, the most admirable and exciting aspect of this work is the reader's immediate ability to use it. No student's book shelf should be without it.

4.0 out of 5 stars To love as Christ loves, March 25, 2007
By
This review is from: Love This!: Learning to Make It a Way of Life, Not Just a Word (invert) (Paperback)
This book gives an updated interpretation of familiar bible passages. It helps youth interpret the message and to apply it to their lives, which at times seem so far removed from biblical times. It is a fresh interpretation of the most beloved bible stories. thanks ka

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Reminder of What We All Need, March 20, 2007
By

This review is from: Love This!: Learning to Make It a Way of Life, Not Just a Word (invert) (Paperback)
Andy Braner's book is an excellent reminder of the old saying, "People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care!" Braner takes examples from the Bible and applies them to present day situations. He challenges the reader to think about what it means to be a Good Samaritan and to look around and see who are the modern day untouchables, the lepers and tax collectors of this century. In a compassionate way, Braner gives the reader practical applications of how to become a real DOER of the Word - to take seriously Jesus' words, "I command you to love each other in the same way that I love you." "Love This!" is an excellent reminder that for whatever reason, God has allowed Christians to be His messengers of hope and forgiveness. But how will anyone listen to the message if they are repelled by a messenger who does not know how to love?

5.0 out of 5 stars Highly practical, easy read!, March 19, 2007
This review is from: Love This!: Learning to Make It a Way of Life, Not Just a Word (invert) (Paperback)
Did you ever consider that your faith calls you to move TOWARDS and not AWAY from that pregnant girl in school? or the guy everyone calls gay? or the homeless man begging for change as you walk by him downtown? Andy Braner challenges us to rethink the way we live our lives as Christians. He offers practical ways we can learn to move towards the homeless, homosexuals, and others we have ostracized. Pick up this book and allow God to show you simple ways you can love the unlovable. It's time to stop judging and isolating ourselves from these groups. We must follow the model of Jesus and love our neighbor as ourselves. This book will teach you how to begin that process in your own life.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bravo, Andy Braner!!!, March 14, 2007

This review is from: Love This!: Learning to Make It a Way of Life, Not Just a Word (invert) (Paperback)
Wow! "Love This!" is encouraging, challenging and convicting. This book should be required reading for all believers. Andy Braner not only gives Biblical principles showing that we are commanded to love others as Christ loves them, he provides personal illustrations and practical applications. If all Christians would allow God to love others through us by living out these principles, we would have no trouble reaching a lost and dying world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
