Obsessed about food from an early age, Andrea Lynn has always been happiest when in the kitchen dabbling with ingredients, making a career in food always in the cards. As a freelance writer and recipe developer, Andrea Lynn's articles and developed recipes have appeared in print and online for numerous publications. After a stint working at a New York Times three-star restaurant, she transitioned into cooking as a personal chef. While the title points this book towards the college crowd I would like to point it toward the work-at-home-full-time-dad-crowd, I know there are some of us out there.

I've had this cookbook a week now and have used it more than probably all my others combined. I love the one stop shopping aspect: all ingredients are at Trader Joes which is also affordable. The recipes are easy: more than a few of the ones I have made so far have made me say "why didn't I think of that" - the answer is because I am not Andrea Lynn and she deserves the credit. The recipes are delicious, period.

I remember being excited when my local Trader Joe's opened but I felt a little lost, thanks to this book not only have a rekindled my excitement for Trader Joe's but I now have the time to shop and prepare meals that are tasty and satisfying. I've even remembered to eat lunch this week and I didn't even have to wait until my daughter fell asleep to prepare it. Now if you'll excuse me I am off to make a Very Berry Smoothie.

PS I recommend the Pork Buns with Broccoli Slaw, The Avocado Toast, Parmesan and Bread Crumb-Crusted Tomatoes, Chicken Salad-stuffed Tomatoes and well pretty much everything else I made this week.

I have a confession. I'm not in college. I just picked this book up because I was looking for an easy cookbook to make simple meals for my husband and I on weeknights. I picked this up because the ingredients were easy to find and the meals were so fast to put together. The food is delicious and comforting, and I don't feel like I'm neglecting my family cooking duties! I love love the vegetarian section and the variety of recipes! This is a fantastic addition to my cookbook collection.

I agree with other reviewers: though this would be a great gift for a recent high school grad, it isn't just for college kids! I live in a small apartment in New York with very limited kitchen space, and I think I could manage every recipe in here--and they all sound delicious. I love the idea of being able to pick up all the ingredients I need in one shopping trip, especially since Trader Joe's is so affordable.

Lynn's instructions are super easy to follow, and I love that every recipe is short, usually 2-4 steps. Some are as simple as taking a prefab TJ's meal and juicing it up a bit with some extra ingredients, and some are much more "from scratch," but not at all intimidating. There's a great emphasis on one-pot cooking (easy cleanup!), and even a whole section for meals you can make using only a microwave. And for all that simplicity, every recipe in the book sounds amazing--kind of incredible since there's so many of them.

In short: great concept, very well executed!
