Book Description

In a style his own, author Kris Wampler introduces this fast-paced and hilarious send up of the action-adventure genre.

When he boarded the 10:45 train, Vic Steelbrass had just one mission: learn PowerPoint by the time he reached New York. But when Anastasia Romanov walked into his life, fate handed him a different mission. Suddenly, he has to seduce a beautiful Russian, foil a madman's bomb plot, AND learn PowerPoint. With countless - or at least more than a few - lives on the line, Steelbrass must prove love is worth believing in...and kill a whole lot of bad guys in the process. He woke that morning as just your average, ex-millionaire, alligator-wrestling, skydiving businessman. But his life would be forever changed when he bought a ticket on...the LOVE TRAIN!

4.0 out of 5 stars A Great Spoof! January 7, 2012
By Sensate
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Well, I have never read a spoof book before, and took to this one with tongue-in-cheek. To be quite honest, I read this book because of the author's comments in a forum. I was completely unprepared for Mr. Wampler's sense of humor, which was a pleasant surprise. I liked his main characters, who never disappointed you with wit and follow-through to foil the plot of a disgruntled lover. A nice weekend read! Very punny!

More About the Author

Kris was born knowing seventeen different languages and higher-level quadruple-complex stage 8 calculus. At age 4 he signed up to take the SAT, but the College Board people thought it would be easier to just give him a perfect score than to have him break their test scoring machines by his unimaginably high intelligence. (He ended up breaking them anyway by merely staring at them). So he got into college - first Harvard, then Oxford, and finally Yale. He aced every single test while simultaneously discovering cures for diseases and running several marathons halfway across the country. He was both valedictorian and salutatorian, and graduated magna summa cum laude triple platinum. His graduation and departure caused each school's average test scores to drop so low that they all lost accreditation for a decade.

He went on to invent the iPod, discover water, and find a way to make money literally grow on trees. Green energy? His car is powered by a perpetual motion machine which all the "experts" (whose jobs he later took) said couldn't be done. When he's not debating the merits of Renaissance thought and southeast Asian microeconomic investment with global scholars, Kris enjoys climbing Mt. Everest or founding nations on the Moon.

Kris has been everywhere, done everything, and held every occupation and job on the planet. He has time traveled. (You should have seen the looks on everyone's faces at the signing of the Declaration of Independence.) He has won every contest, award, and competition there is. He has smashed every single world record, and holds a record for doing so. He knows so much stuff that it hasn't even been discovered yet. So don't wake him when they figure out a way to make square circles - Kris already did.

That's about 30% about Kris; the rest is just details.

Okay, actually....

Kris Wampler, born and raised in North Carolina, is an attorney, writer, and avid Old English Sheepdog owner. He also enjoys playing guitar, reading, good music, and good movies. He is the author of Love Train, his first book, available now on Amazon.com. Kris attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (B.A. 2006) and the Wake Forest University School of Law (J.D. 2009). He is 28.
