I have always like this mangaka's expressive artwork and stories. Her ukes have such adorable faces.

The main story of the same title is well done. Both boys are very likable. I find Masaki's situation realistic and sad. Not much difference between a prison and school if you are the smallest boy with a pretty face. His developing relationship with Aihara, a seemingly carefree schoolmate who does not give a darn about anything but is infact caring and dependable, is well done. The fact that Aihara's family is ex-Yakuza does provide some light moments too. Enough smex in this one to satisfy.

The second story is the shortest but memorable as a school boy (such a cute face!), under pressure from home, ran away for one day. I wish the mangaka will give this one a full story.

The third one, I understand from a fan, is a prequel to Blooming Darling Vol. 1 (Yaoi Manga). This prequel is cute and sweet but more typical than the first two stories.

Again I have to say I am impressed with these Kindle Yaois from Digital Manga. Of course nothing beats the print copy but if I can get my translated Yaois faster this way, why not!

Love and Trap by Kotetsuko Yamamoto is a must read for all yaoi fans. The book consists of three stories. The main theme of this book is the emotional development of the characters.

The main story, Love and Trap, is about Mochida Masaki who realizes there is more to life then just surviving. He emotional matures with the help of Alhara Ryuuji. I love this story. The character development is great and you can really get the inner struggle within the main character. I think what was most notable about this story is that the discovery Mochida Masaki goes through is one that everyone has to find for themselves. Which allows readers to really connect to the story itself. I also liked the secondary character, Alhara Kaede. He's very amusing to read.

The second story, Love and Honey, Sawaguchi Mirai, temporarily and impulsively, runs away from the stress of his home life. He meets up with an unusual boy, Manabu, who changes his life by making it clear that all families are different. And he finds love at the end. I think the erotic scene in this story is the most tantalizing of all the book. My only major complaint for this book is that this story is too short. I wanted one more chapter. This story is my favorite of the book.

The last story, We're Blooming, from what I can figure is a prequel to a series put out later. The main character, Murakami Takashi, discoveries the difference between true love and a crush. My favorite character is Fujimori Haruhiko, who provides the best sexual harassment comedy. Read this if you like a good laugh.

The art work is great and the story line is excellent. Character development is deep and there is erotic action in this. There is a range between drama and comedy in this book.

I will be up front and admit to being slightly biased as I am a huge fan of Yamamoto Kotetsuko. I am very happy DMG has released so many of her titles. I only hope those will translate into actual print volumes. As of the writing of this review, only one of her works has been printed by June and that was several years ago. With that disclaimer out of the way, on to the actual review...

Yamamoto's works are frequently cute, fluffy pieces filled with humor. That is not to say she is afraid to delve into darker areas. The first part of the main story deals with a somewhat heavy subject. The previous reviewer described the individual stories already, so I won't go into detail there. Instead, I will simply say I almost always like the characters Yamamoto creates, and this was no exception. I really liked the main story. It was believable, as believable as any story in the yaoi-verse can be. I wasn't especially crazy about the second one, though. It was too rushed for me. However, the third story, "We're Blooming," is simply one of my all time favorites! It is indeed a prequel to the "Blooming Darling" series and I do believe there was never a more awesome character than Haruhiko. Read this and then go get Blooming Darling Vol. 1 (Yaoi Manga) and Blooming Darling Vol. 2 (Yaoi Manga). You won't be disappointed.

In regards to Yamamoto's style, her art has a very light and airy feel to it. Many of her characters cross the line from cute to adorable, which suits me just fine.
