Angel Taylor's album is a beautiful intro to what's sure to be this young artist's long musical journey. 'Love Travels' was one of just a handful of albums that I thought worth buying and adding to my summer '09's soundtrack ....and it's been one of those albums that has lasted long beyond the usual time that most new music becomes old. Her voice is still such a joy to listen to, and has become welcome company as summer fades and autumn creeps in. Wishing her and her piano bench a very long and creative journey ahead!

I personally feel Angel Taylor went very much unnoticed...I constantly see promos of this record filed under soul/R&B but in reality, she's singer/songwriter folky pop, along the lines of Colbie Caillat and Sara Barailles, but got misfiled due to the colour of her skin. I think this played into the failure of the album "Love Travels" at Aware/Columbia...despite the vidclip of her song "Like You Do" getting tons of TV play on VH1 and AT even getting the nod as one of their "You Oughta Know" artists. I feel she is a talented singer/songwriter, quite underrated and "Love Travels" a sheer refreshing delight...but positive reviews many times don't translate into record sales unfortunately.Well, the execs at Aware/Columbia/Sony prob felt at their wits' end what to do with Angel, and the label and Angel & her managers prob felt it was best to part ways despite their best efforts...I don't sense any bad blood here...things just sometimes don't work out. This had to have been the case BECAUSE I just saw Angel on Season 2 of NBC's "The Voice" last night singing Adele's "Someone Like You"...could this be ironic as a parting ways to her former label??? Adele is on Columbia and the song is a breakup song??!!?? I say this because she could not be on the Voice unless she was dropped and is label-free...well, now, perhaps, Angel Taylor can get the exposure and break that she never had with "Love Travels"...I'm rooting for her, and now she's on Adam's team...I wonder if he ever heard "Love Travels"??? Cuz he said he knew EXACTLY what to do with her as opposed to Blake who did not but was willing to try...Adam won last year with Javier, so we'll see...all in all, I was thrilled to see Angel Taylor on the show...now people will get to know this exceptionally talented, unique, singer/songwriter who falls in the space between soul singer and happy/confessional singer/songwriter/guitarist. Go Angel Taylor!!! ;)

This is a really awesome album. Angel has a great sound and put out a great compilation of songs in this collection. She is one of my favorite artists.
