Despite all the other 5-star reviews, I couldn't get into this one. Scenes bounced around before we even knew who these people are. Page after page in italics...? Why? Is she remembering something, making it up, happening to someone else? I tried three times to start over -- afterall everyone else said it was the best thing since sliced bread... Couldn't do it. I give authors a LOT of leeway -- I wanted to like this one since I paid for it and others adored it -- but wish I hadn't spent the two bucks.

Love Unfortunate is a sorrowful, haunting tale about the unconventional love between a maniacal vampire and his tortured wife. I loved every word. To say anymore would give away the unexpected ending. I'd recommend reading this short story if you enjoy a more "realistic" vampire love story, one with despair and cruelty. No sparkly vampires here!
