I have been trying desperately to find a book to compete with my love for Beautiful Disaster and finally found it! I absolutely loved this book and couldn't put it down. Once I finished it, I immediately went to page one and started it all over again. The characters are down to earth, well-rounded and easy to imagine. Ryan and Taryn's love starts out very organically and allows you to see how and why they fall for each other. The length of this book allows the reader to take their time getting to know Taryn and Ryan and follow their journey through highs and lows without feeling rushed and unconvinced of their depth of love for each other. The writing is believable and consistent throughout. There wasn't one part of the book that I didn't enjoy or was disappointed by the choice the author made to take the story. The minute the book is over you'll be begging for the sequel, Unrehearsed Love coming out later this year (not soon enough). If you love seriously romantic (without the cheese) heartwarming reads with sexy characters, that leave you feeling butterflies, then this book is for you. This book will not disappoint; these characters will stick with you and you'll be on pins and needles for more of their love story.

It started out wordy and insecure; given that it's 659 pages and a brick, I was a little worried at first.

Fortunately, once Taryn (our narrator and main character) gets comfortable, the pace smooths out beautifully, and the novel is a delight of strong, intelligent characters, believable plot, and sultry romance.

Taryn and Ryan go slowly with their relationship; both have good reasons to be wary. The reader gets a slowly and intelligently developed romance that holds up well against the fairy-tale impulses that overpower many a lesser novel. It's a good while before anything gets explicit, though there's honest steam long before.

I loved it. It's the best romance I've read in some time, and my five stars here is not merely "a good romance" but indicating a really good, fun novel, period. It will capture and hold your attention to the very end. The length was exactly right for the story, and I personally love being able to spend that amount of time with characters I enjoy. It's perfect for a day full of airports... other than being physically heavy. It's a novel ideal for Kindle and other e-readers, for sure.

The only caveat is that Taryn owns a bar, and there is a lot of drinking in the action. It didn't bother me, but I wouldn't suggest it for anyone with troubles with alcohol.

I cannot understand how in the world this book is so highly recommended. The premise isn't bad and the story actually started out pretty well. However, for me, a 600+ page book should be an epic spanning decades(or years, at least) OR a nail-biting thriller that requires vivid detail. This story covers roughly six months, described in excruciating detail. EVERY SINGLE mundane daily event and useless thought that crosses the main character's mind is included in the text. By the time I had completed about a third of the book, I realized it wasn't leading to any major event. That was too late for me. I was far enough into the story to feel compelled to finish. Reading this book was not a fulfilling journey or an enjoyable distraction. It was an obstacle to overcome. The biggest laugh I got was on the last page, where I learned about the sequel! You have got to be kidding me...more Ryan and Taryn! Not only was there too much of them in the first place, I got to where I didn't even remotely like her. She spent most of the relationship worrying about his faithfulness, then the first hot guy to come along totally distracted her and caused her "mind to wander...staring at his lips". Seriously?! That was the end of my even caring about the story. I have never written a review before, but I am hoping to prevent someone from wasting a HUGE amount of time on this book.

I first want to say that, in a way, I feel like I shouldn't be rating the book at all, because I may have just been completely misguided in thinking it was something I would be into. Kind of like someone who only likes, I don't know, jazz, buying a metal album and rating it badly. Doesn't really seem fair, you know?
I'm going to "voice" my opinion anyway, but take that as my disclaimer that the following review is coming from someone who probably had no business buying this book to begin with.

My main issues:
1. How absolutely unrealistic the characters are. Everyone is just SO perfect, well-adjusted, and multi-talented. Taryn has zero flaws, she is basically the complete stereotype of what the typical male supposedly wants in a female. When she finally develops a flaw, it's taken to such an extreme that it's completely annoying.

2. Everything was so predictable. I constantly knew what was coming, it was all so amazingly cliché. Dialog, events, reactions, everything. I tried to put all that aside and just accept the story for what it is, but I literally constantly found myself rolling my eyes and cringing at the extreme sappiness and predictability.

3. There was no conflict! I kept reading, waiting and waiting for the conflict, and it never came. I got about 47% through and then had to skip ahead, I couldn't take it anymore. I skipped to the 83% mark and FINALLY there was some conflict, although even that wound up being really silly and disappointing.

4. The gratuitous use of exclamation points didn't bother me at all, but a lot of the dialog itself was ridiculous. Here's a minor example that I found more amusing than anything else:

"I have that new video game system, if you guys want to play.
