5.0 out of 5 stars Wow! What a series!, January 9, 2011

It has been years since I read the series. I am missing a few books. The series as a whole is amazing. I love the history of the Civil War. I love romance and holding my breathe for those thriller kind of moments. I would stay up and read her books all night. I hope to get the full collection of the books so I can read them all again one right after another! Now that would be a fabulous vacation!

5.0 out of 5 stars A great "Bodice Ripper" for lovers of "Old Time" Historical Southern Romance!, January 17, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I am so happy to have found this author and this series! I love the old "Bodice Rippers" from the 70's and the 80's! How exciting, it was available for my Kindle! I finished the book last night and am excited to start to the second one!

This book is not a tame read, however, it REALLY is a GREAT read if you like your romances with drama, kidnappings, love/hate relationships, set during the Civil War with dramatic scences about how brutal the Civil War really was and of course a GRAND LOVE AFFAIR!

Beautiful and ever the spunky Southerner, Kitty Wright is torn between Rebel Nathan Collins and Yankee Travis Coltrane.

When the war starts, Kitty is abducted and ravished by a war crazy Rebel who wants revenge against her for Kitty getting him fired from his overseer job because he was beating a young female slave. Kitty is rescued from her Rebel kidnappers by Yankee Travis Coltrane but finds herself held captive by her rescuer and thrown into the battlefields to help tend the wounded. The Yankee Travis Coltrane starts a wild raw desire in Kitty that she never knew existed and soon she begins to realize her heart is as captive as her body.

Of course, the road of true love never runs smooth and Kitty struggles with her teenage love for Nathan, a Rebel to whom she is engaged. All the while, Kitty is trying to survive and keep her mind intact as the world torn by Civl War goes crazy all around them all and her beloved South is brought to its knees by the war.

This is a story of passion and torn emotions set in a time when the United States were torn apart by the Civil War.

Great book! I look forward to reading the whole series!
