The Whispers come at you again with a sound that is vibrant but filled with evening light melodies. They take you up with 'keep on lovin me' and mellow you out with 'keep your love around'! Too smooth!

This is a great CD that is hard to find. The Whispers really put it down on this release with two great fast tunes to get it all started and then a mix of mellow and mid-tempo hits. Love the call and response between the twins.

Although I am hardly grown, this album/cd is for me (or should be). It was released the same year I was born and around that time, black music was changing fast and Stevie Wonder, Prince, and Michael Jackson were already setting the standards that made more black artists to try to follow. The Whispers had their own style, thanks to their vocals and their production as well as Leon Sylvers and his production team (this would be the last Whispers album of which Leon Sylvers will exclusively produce). Unlike many R&B albums that came out between 1982-83, Love For Love was an all slow jam/mid tempo love album, except for the grooves "Keep On Lovin' Me" and my favorite, "Tonight" of which both charted the top 5 on the R&B charts in the spring/summer of 1983 and were played frequently on popular music shows like Soul Train and American Bandstand. "Keep Your Love Around" and "Do They Turn You On" are also favorites of mine and I also enjoy "This Time" as well. I think ts time for me to complete this album on my itunes library because this and all of their other albums from the 1980's are available on itunes.

This CD contains the beautiful ballad "Had it not been for you" That song alone makes this CD worth owning.

In what would be the group's last full production pairing with songwriting wizard Leon Sylvers, III, magic instantly sparked gold, and as a result, the Whispers triumphantly soars with yet another blockbuster album including the hits "Tonight," "Keep On Loving Me," "This Time," "Do They Turn You On," "Keep Your Love Around," and the album's essential title track making this disc another one of their best.
