CD pressing of the reissue of this Post-Punk classic. The song deals largely with problems in Curtis’s marriage to wife Deborah, but also reflected his general psychological unraveling at that time. 'Love Will Tear Us Apart' is one of the few Rock songs in which the lyrics genuinely stand up as poetry, the deeply personal and private revelations contrasting with a coldly robotic and metallic musical background that owes much to the vision of producer Martin Hannett, who helped create such a huge, echoing background. Features two versions of 'Love Will Tear Us Apart' (Original and 1995 Versions) plus 'Atmosphere'. Warner.

I purchased the Love Will Tear Us Apart single as an import upon its release in 1980. At some point it was left out in the sun and rendered unplayable. When the CD era hit I had the opportunity to purchase any of the Joy Division compilations featuring the song, but for some reason never did. The recent reissues of Unknown Pleasures and Closer made it imperative to have the new CD single as well. It serves as a physical, musical and spiritual link between the two JD resissues. IMO this is the greatest single of the 1980s, and I might go even further and say it is the greatest single of all time. You can never get tired of hearing it.

What else to say about "love will tear us apart", it takes you out of darkness to send you in hell of feelings, if you need a robe here it is but not for up, this is going down...
very good single in a nice price.
