5.0 out of 5 stars Sweet and Relatable
This book was a great medium to reinforce the message to our son that we love him and are "with him" while he is at school. We also ordered Buddy Bear, My First Day at Preschool (DVD) and Blue Goes to School (book). Each were great! Good luck. The best advice we got was 1) make sure your kid knows you think his school is a great and that you want him to be there and 2)...

3.0 out of 5 stars Good for kids starting preschool
This book is very appropriate for young children starting preschool. I wish I had read this to my daughter before she started school. I actually searched for this kind of book because she was having a bit of trouble adapting to the change. She likes this book except that the characters are pigs. I think she would have like real people instead. We purchased another...

5.0 out of 5 stars delightful book to reassure new preschoolers/kindergarteners, August 28, 2003
By A Customer
A joyous book to help any child feel better about going off to preschool or kindergarten--for the first time or just for the new school year. Bright, colorful, uncluttered illustrations and smooth effective prose show us little Owen Pig's worries (with wonderful facial expressions) and how his mother is able to reassure him that he is loved even when she is not there. My own four year old asked for repeated readings and loved every page. Enthusiastically recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a precious story!, January 29, 2003

We stumbled upon this book on a rainy day trip to the bookstore. Being away from their parents is often hard on preschoolers and this book is an excellent resource to calm those fears. The activities that Owen experiences are great examples of a typical day at preschool/daycare, which builds familiarity. I especially love how this books bring up the fact that even when we make mistakes, we are still very lovable. What a treasure we have discovered in this book! This has quickly become a favorite!

I actually searched for this kind of book because she was having a bit of trouble adapting to the change. She likes this book except that the characters are pigs. I think she would have like real people instead. We purchased another book on going to nursery school with real people and she seems to prefer that one more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Helped My Son So Much, September 1, 2005
By

I was looking for a book to read to my 3-year-old son to help him adjust to attending all day nursery school twice a week. Based on other customer reviews, I chose this one. This is just a sweet book where mommy is reminding her little one Owen that even though they are apart, while he is doing all his school activities - whether it be making a new friend or making a mistake - she is thinking about him and loving him throughout the day. The book ends with mommy picking up her child from school, and reading together at night. Now at our bedtime reading, my son says "I want to read about Owen". Also, I've used the book for other issues such as sleeping alone ("See? Owen sleeps in his bed all by himself.") - it has really helped! I highly recommend this book!

5.0 out of 5 stars A way remind your child that you love her, November 3, 2006
I bought this book because my two year old was having problems with my going back to work. Every day she was crying, begging me to stay home from work and be with her. A friend had suggested "The Kissing Hand," and she liked it well enough, but "I Love You All Day Long" is the best. The book's greatest strength is how it instills in your child's mind and heart that through every action of the day, good or bad, your mother loves you. Now, every morning when I drop my child off at daycare, I tell her her that I love her all day long, and she tells me the same. She has even gone as far as to say one day that when someone took her toy away from her, she remembered "memembered" that Mommy loved her all day long. Is ther anything better than that?

5.0 out of 5 stars What a great discovery!, April 23, 2004
By A Customer
I discovered this book by accident and it has literally become a staple of evening reading with my 2 1/2 year old. It's so great to watch a child grasp the concept that just because a parent is away from them during the day, doesn't mean they don't still love them. My daughter says "I Love and miss you all day long, Mommy" almost every day when I leave for work. I have given this book to all of my working mom friends, too! A must have!

My daughter suffers from separation anxiety and I purchased this book as a last resort and I am so glad I did. My daughter has related very well to the storyline and she loves the illustrations. Its a great match for her and myself and I definately recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Cute Little Story, November 3, 2005
By
This is my 3 year old sons' favorite book. We have read it so many times that he can recite some of the text with me. This book is a naptime/bedtime tradition in our house. It really engages my son and it calms him right down and gets him ready for sleep. A great buy for any toddler!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Book!, October 11, 2005
My daughter LOVES this book. She's only one and a half but it has been the only book that I've been able to get her to sit down and listen to. It's a wonderful book, very reassuring. We read it every night at bedtime.
