Family Above Party (or Exclusive Religions),
By Robert D. Steele (Oakton, VA United States) - See all my reviews (TOP 500 REVIEWER) (HALL OF FAME REVIEWER)
This review is from: Love You, Daddy Boy: Daughters Honor the Fathers They Love (Hardcover)
I had the pleasure,on the flight from Lubbock to Dallas, of sitting next to the wife of Senator Frist. I was not planning to comment on this book, but because the marital relationship is mentioned above, and because I love non-fiction books deeply, I just want to say that the author is a real person, a personable person, and this book should be bought on its merits. It does not cover the negative father-daughter relationships, only the positive ones. If you are a father with daughters, buy this book for its example of what worked, what left lasting love in the hearts of daddy's daughters. The family, not the party, is the foundation of this Nation's greatness (and its current decline in broken and non-nuclear families in name only}, so I regard this book as one of the building blocks for getting us back on track.

Loved this book!! Had to keep the kleenex nearby. Every story different but the common theme is how fathers shape the lives of their daughters. It brought back so many memories.

Emotions and glimpses,
This review is from: Love You, Daddy Boy: Daughters Honor the Fathers They Love (Hardcover)
Karyn Frist has compiled a diverse group of women to open their hearts about their dads. Wow!! My favorite is Mary Higgins Clark who closes her story with her visit to Ireland to discover the barn where her dad (who died when she was 11) was raised, running her fingers over her dad's carved names in the old oak barn door. Have some tissues nearby when you read the many captivating, emotional memories!!

Very Special Gift for Dads,
By
This review is from: Love You, Daddy Boy: Daughters Honor the Fathers They Love (Hardcover)
I have thoroughly enjoyed reading about many of our heros today and their relationship with their Dad's. I am very excited about giving this as a gift to my Dad for Father's Day. It has been a blessing to read the book and then think about what my father has given me that has helped shape the woman I am today. It really encourages me to want to be present to make a difference in my own children's lives. Wonderful idea Karen and I love the way you gave us a place to write about our Dad's. I am so thankful that mine is still alive at 82 to receive this gift.
