Book Description

February 1, 1997
Artie Shaw--himself married eight times to such glamorous actresses as Ava Gardner, Lana Turner, and Evelyn Keyes, and a most provocative storyteller in his own right, here describes three examples of love gone bad. In this book you will encounter passion vs. suspicion, love vs. prejudice, and passion vs. greed.

The icing on the cake is a new introduction by Shaw in which he names the people who served as role models for many of his not-so-fictitious characters.

This review is from: I Love You, I Hate You, Drop Dead: Variations on a Theme (Hardcover)
After years of looking through used and vintage book stores, it's great to see the re-release of Artie Shaw's books. His writing is just as masterful as the music he writes, although I'm sure he wouldn't like that comparison. I would recommend this book to fans of Shaw, jazz, a bygone era, or any book lover. You won't be able to put it down.
