A very popular jazz album, these recordings of the mellow studio performances of Joe Locke's noble vibes, George Mraz's sensitive bass, Geoffrey Keezer's flowing keyboard, and the gentle propulsion of Clarence Penn's drums, all welded together by the rich phrasing and vocal chops of singer Kenny Washington, will bring much enjoyment to the listener. The selection of ballads and popular melodies is good and offer a variety of improvisations and explorations. This album offers classic Dinner Jazz, or music for early evening, which will allow relaxation and instill a feeling of comfort and peace: musical sorcery. Somebody nominate it for a Grammy! This jazz is sweet.

Joe has assembled a terrific band and his choice of songs (both covers and originals) are superb. Kenny Washington is a singer to watch, his phrasing and timing are incredible. In a perfect world Joe would win a Grammy for best song for his tribute to the great,late saxophonist Bob Berg, Verazanno Moon. Not only is he our greatest vibes player, his songwriting is incredible.
