We received this book as a gift a couple of months ago and my son, who just turned three, absolutely loves it! He asks me to read it to him every night. It is warm and loving yet simple to understand. We have fun looking at the pictures together and he always gives me a hug and kiss when we're done reading. We enjoy the book so much that I have bought it for my brothers' kids.

I have been reading a lot to my 3 month old mostly the common rhyming books that everyone reads. I came upon ABC I love you in the book store. I think everytime I read it that I am going to cry. It is a real love poem from a parent to any child. I strongly recommend this book for children of all ages.

I love P. K. Hallinan books for my grandson - they are gentle, loving, and well-written. Unlike some children's authors, Hallinan uses a wide vocabulary and does not "talk down" to children. His messages are grounded firmly in faith and geared toward the Christian community. His poems flow nicely, although he does, at times, stretch to come up with something close to rhyming words. Nevertheless, children come away from having a Hallinan book read to them with a feeling that they are special.

I bought this book thinking it would encompass the entire alphabet - but it does not. It is truly "ABC I Love You" and no more. Still it is a wonderful book to give to the child you love, whether that child is truly a child or your adult offspring. I know many adults who would cherish receiving this book from their parents - particularly those of us in the generation where feelings were not always expressed.

I do hope Hallinan will, at some time in the future, do an entire alphabet book. His works are truly gifts from the heart for those you love.

I have read this book to my five year old daughter so often that I've memorized it. When I travel for business, I call home and "read" the book to her over the phone. It's a simple little love poem from a parent to a child, and one of the sweetest books in our library. You will love it!

All parents will love reading this story to their children. It is a sweet book that captures the essence of the love a parent holds for his or her child. If your "child" would sit through it, it would be a marvelous book to read to one of any age. I have given this book as a baby gift to every new parent since I found it . . . and kept one for myself just in case I ever have the opportunity to read to my adult children!!
