5.0 out of 5 stars A Musical Ride..., April 5, 2004

This review is from: Love Your Way (Audio CD)
Each lift from "Vulture Street" keeps getting better and better. Alright, maybe not. On My Mind was a brilliant song. But, for my money, "Love Your Way" is the best track on "Vulture Street", and as a result I'm a bit biased toward this single.

"Love Your Way" itself is, of course, a beautiful and flowing track to begin with, acoustic guitars a-strumming and Bernard Fanning really selling some pain in his voice. Then as the drums come crashing in and the song really gets going, it carries you away on a musical ride. This is a song I found it impossible not to love.
The B-sides are "Rocket Reducer No.62" and "Hard Luck Dave" - a heavy rocker and an interesting rock/ballad hybrid respectively - and are both excellent, but I found the Love Your Way demo, "City Hum", to be a real standout. This slightly different interperatation of the title track is actually amazingly powerful.

For a single, this is brilliant value, and comes warmly reccomended.

4.0 out of 5 stars Slightly better than the other vulture street ones, August 11, 2010
This review is from: Love Your Way (Audio CD)

Love your way is probably the better song on the album, so its an ok single.

Rocket reducer no 62 is just straight out rock, can also be found on the UK version of on my mind.

Hard luck dave is a retrun to the old powderfinger tune, probably a bit too alternative for the album hence its a bside

City hum (love your way demo) is probably better than the album version, has all the grandiose and overlaid guitar loops stripped back and presents a beautiful version of the song, also city hum replaces 'love your way' type lyrics in verses.
