Reviews:

'This is a funny read about life and love and how difficult it is not only to meet the one, but then to try not to poison, alienate or otherwise distress them in a huge variety of ways... They're great characters and you'll be rooting for them from the off, not to mention howling with laughter in the process... I sailed through it, only occasionally having to put it down to wipe the tears of mirth from my cheeks.' The Daily Mail

'Clevery constructed and downright hilarious.' Closer

'Lots of fun.' New!

'Absolutely hilarious. Seriously, I'd warn you not to read it in public as people will look at you strangely as you attempt to do that supressed belly laugh thing that makes you look demented. Anyone who's ever had a cringeful date that's ended in humiliation (that's pretty much all of us, then!) will heart this. And the best bit? The next book in the series is out in June - I can't wait!' Fabulous, The Sun

'Once I was 50 pages into this book I had to put it down until I could see through the tears of laughter streaming down my face. The tales of Jamie and Laura's dates are uncut, hilarious and scarily close to real life...'The Fajita Incident' will go down in history as one of the funniest scenes I have ever read...As well as being hilariously funny, Love...From Both Sides is also cute, warm and easily relatable.' Novelicious

'The funniest book I have ever read in my life, ever...I can't WAIT to read the two sequels, Love...and Sleepless Nights and Love...Under Different Skies.' Chick Lit Reviews and News

Product Description:

When Nick Spalding self-published Love...From Both Sides and Love...And Sleepless Nights he became one of the bestselling ebook authors of 2012. Now for the first time the Love...books are being published in a longer format with more of the love story, more of Laura and Jamie's ups and downs and more of the laugh-out-loud hilarious moments that fans have come to know and love.

Sometimes, the hardest part of finding love is keeping a straight face...

For Jamie Newman, being a single guy isn't proving to be much fun, especially when confronted with a sexually belligerent divorcee and a goddess so far out of his league she might as well be a different species.

Mind you, being a girl in search of love isn't a bowl of cherries either. Just ask Laura McIntyre, who's recently contended with a horny estate agent on a quest for light relief and a rabid mountain bike enthusiast with a penchant for lycra that leaves little to the imagination.

When Jamie and Laura bump into one another (quite literally) it looks like their luck may have changed - but sometimes finding the right person is only the start of your problems...

Love...From Both Sides is a warts-and-all romantic comedy for everyone who knows how tricky the quest for love can be.

About the Author

Nick Spalding is an author who, try as he might, can't seem to write anything serious. He's worked in the communications industry his entire life, mainly in media and marketing. As talking rubbish for a living can get tiresome (for anyone other than a politician), he thought he'd have a crack at writing comedy fiction - with an agreeable level of success so far, it has to be said. Nick lives in the South of England with his fiancée. He is approaching his forties with the kind of dread usually associated with a trip to the gallows, suffers from the occasional bout of insomnia, and still thinks Batman is cool.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hurt Myself Laughing! June 11, 2012
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Love From Both Sides tells the story of Jamie Newman and Laura McIntyre.

Jamie blogs about his dating experiences and Laura has a diary that she addresses to her deceased mother. I have to say what Laura tells her mother in her diary is way more than I would ever think about telling my mom! We get to read about what their lives were like before they met one another, how they met, and what happened afterwards.

I do think that this is a premise that has been done before however, Nick Spaulding does such a great job of giving you two sides to Jamie and Laura's relationship that it will make you laugh out loud so much you will fear hurting yourself. I did love the ups and downs of their relationship and a realistic look at two people struggling in their work lives and also their love lives. I think a lot of novels seem to act as soon as you find the one you get your Happily Ever After (HEA). This novel was more realistic about yes you get each other but your issues/problems don't go away. Still though it gives a very entertaining look at the inner workings of a relationship.

I do want to caution readers out that that don't like crude language or explicit sex scenes you may want to skip this one. For those of you that loved this novel, I definitely recommend reading the sequel Love... And Sleepless Nights.

Overall grade: A+

5.0 out of 5 stars Hilarious! June 13, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Sometimes you find a book that ticks every box for you. Love...From Both Sides was that book for me. It is well written, very funny, and entertaining. It had me giggling, chuckling, and laughing myself silly with tears in my eyes more than once. More importantly, it was very believable (I guess that's what real-life tales means), and I could easily relate to the heroine. Another thing that I liked was that the book was told from both male and female points of view, and I found it very refreshing. I definitely recommend Love...From Both Sides and its sequel Love...And Sleepless Nights.

5.0 out of 5 stars Don't Judge a Book by its Price July 9, 2012
By MMA
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
That's the lesson I learned!

As ridiculous as this sounds, I was put off by the price (too low!) and the fact that there were only about 25 reviews, yet all seemed to give five stars. That smacked of family and friends spamming the product page to me.

I was wrong.

I'm so pleased I purchased this book. It's a delight to read. The he said/she said is masterfully written. Even when writing from the female perspective, you'd never guess the author is male.

I'm off to find more books by this author!

If this is what the dating scene is really like, then I'm grateful I'm not a part of it. Too crass for my tastes. Couldn't finish it.
