One of the best greatest hits I have purchased,
By John "Ira" (New Jersey) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Lovecraft & Witch Hearts (Audio CD)
Now many bands while attempting to piece together a "greatest hits" album will not even begin to think of fan favorites. Or give a well rounded record of there work but just put the hits on here. Cradle of filth do not do this here. The tracks are choosen very well and gives a good over look of cof's career. It also has a booklet describing cof's career up to the point of its release(02)DISK 1: LOVECRAFT This is the disk which features tracks from past lp's and ep's Track listing below: My favorite tracks from this album would be : Funeral in carpathia(be quick or be dead version) cruelty brought thee orchids and saffron's curse. DISK 2 WITCHHEARTS This disk Features B-sides, covers and remixes. Quite convienant to have them all on one disk. Track listing below: 1. Once Upon Atrocity My favorite tracks from this disk would be: Hallowed be thy name, Lustmord and wargasm 2, Thirteen autumns and a widow{Red october mix} So, as I have before if your new to cof Buy this 1st, if your an old cof fan yet undecided on wether to get this or not. Buy it. In conclusion, I hope this review has somewhat helped you, enjoy.

Mindblowing for veterans and newcomers alike,
By Paul T. Marshall (Roswell, GA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Lovecraft & Witch Hearts (Audio CD)
Cradle of Filth has been my favorite band since I randomly picked out their powerhouse album "Cruelty And The Beast" almost a year ago. I have since devoured every album they've produced, most notably the shatteringly ground-breaking "Midian." With this compilation of noteworthy cuts as well as some rare stuff, namely the "Red October" mix of "Thirteen Autumns And A Widow," one of my all-time favorite songs, COF have permanently established themselves, IMO, as one of the most musically gifted, lyrically amazing black metal outfits in the genre. The import edition of this CD includes an amazing poster with ALL the lyrics to every cut on the album. That alone makes this a worthy buy, so if the US edition includes it, you'd do well to pick it up. EVERY song, with the exception, IMO, of the dismal "Twisting Further Nails" remix (techno does not belong in COF), absolutely rips. From the blood-curdling "Beneath The Howling Stars" to the chilling "Her Ghost In The Fog" to the pinnacle of COF's amazing career, IMO, "Cruelty Brought Thee Orchids," "Lovecraft And Witch Hearts" will give you sonic pleasure undreamed of. Even if you have all the albums, buy this; the rare cuts make this a shining gem to add to your collection. I'm glad COF released this to sate the ravenous appetite of the fans who are desperately awaiting the forthcoming new album. For the COF newcomer, this CD will give you an excellent introduction to the unparalleled black metal cutting-edge sound of which COF are pioneers. Buy this immediately!

Brilliant,
By David Thorne (Hobart Tas AUS) - See all my reviews

Brilliant "best of" by the current joint leaders in black metal (Dimmu Borgir being the other). The first disc "Lovecraft" is a collection of some of COF best songs to date, while the second is a collection of covers ranging from Celtic Frost and Sodom, to Slayer and Iron Maiden. I would definantly recommend this album to COF fans and new listeners alike.
