In the first of six studies, Bishop Jakes takes the reader on a journey through the first book of Ephesians. The book opens by providing a history lesson as to the type of people the Ephesians were, and the lifestyles to which they were accustomed. The books discusses the apostle Paul's relationship to the Ephesians. It explains that although they were wealthy and enjoyed the finer things in life, the Ephesians were introduced to a different manner of living by Paul.

Each chapter of the book of Ephesians is carefully analyzed. These are reinforced with other Biblical references, as well as narrative that causes the reader to delve further into the Word and provokes further revelation. This book is small in size, but it is mighty in terms of the message it conveys!

The "Harmony" chapter based on Ephesians 1:4 is my favorite chapter. It draws parallels between our walk with God and music. "Our destiny is to be harmonious with what God has chosen for us. Harmony only exists because there is his melody. In our lives, God is the lead singer! He sings the melody line, and our role is to harmonize with Him."

Once again, Bishop Jakes presents a compelling and educational literary work. The examples and other references that are used provide greater enhancement and enlightenment to the reader.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved By God, May 30, 2008
I found this book to be exceptional. The content was personal knowing God was speaking directly to me about the love he has for me. I couldn't put the book down. The reference verses were easily explained throughout the text. I gained a greater sense of why Jesus made an unselfish act of love and sacrifice on and before going to the cross as well as who I am in the body of Christ. It deepened my respect. I was so inspired I wanted to share the book with an acquaintance. . .so I bought a book for him. He agrees . . inspiring reading. He couldn't put the book down either. I suggest you buy the whole six book series. . .and grow in the Lord.

This review is from: Loved by God: The Wealth of the Believer (Six Pillars for the Believer) (Hardcover)
I am reading this book because I want a deeper understanding of God's love for me and I'm getting just that. Until I came to Christ and the church He brought me to, I never have been loved unconditionally before. Bishop Jakes has taught me so much and has totally blessed me. If you need more love or want a deeper understanding of God's love, I highly recommend this book. I have the whole set and love it!
