Book Description

April 1, 2009
Stories of a Jewish life from a Galitzianer shtetl to a Florida condiminium, told by an award-winning storyteller. "Her writing has a lively, spoken word rhythm, as if she is the raconteur in your living room telling tales out of school. This is the oral tradition in its truest sense: stories shaped by the listener and by time. Bresnick-Perry's stories are wildly funny and deeply moving." -Na'amat Woman "Through these many-splendored multi-layered technicolor personal stories, filled with humor and poignant moments, Roslyn's voice enters your heart! She carries you with her to deeper truths of the human spirit." - Peninnah Schram "One of this nation's finest tellers of tales." - Steve Zeitlin, author, Because God Loves Stories: An Anthology of Jewish Storytelling

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful book, humorous and insightful, June 8, 2009
This review is from: "I Loved My Mother on Saturdays" and other tales from the shtetl and beyond (Paperback)
I've been a huge fan of Roslyn's storytelling since I began following her career in the late 90s. This compilation of her stories captures the unique flavor of her storytelling voice, her humor, her artistry, and her genuine love of her family and friends. Note the opening poem as well as the stories. She's just breathtakingly wonderful. The introduction is very helpful in contextualizing the importance of Bresnick-Perry in the storytelling community.
