5.0 out of 5 stars Best nursing shawl out there, hands down
Ok, this shawl does it all. It covers up mom and baby with enough neck space for mom to see baby. It's light and airy for hot weather. It covers front AND back (something other covers don't do). It also works as a blanket, stroller sun cover, table/ground cover for resting and changing baby. It can also be used as a poncho when pregnant or post partum. Lastly, this...

While the fabric is nice and soft, and the shawl is attractive overall, this product fails miserably in its fundamental task: providing coverage for public breastfeeding. 1.0 out of 5 stars Insufficient coverage for breastfeeding, October 29, 2008
While the fabric is nice and soft, and the shawl is attractive overall, this product fails miserably in its fundamental task: providing coverage for public breastfeeding. Although it gives you adequate fabric in the front, the shawl is so short on the sides that it exposes the bare skin of your abdomen when you lift your shirt from the waist up to breastfeed. I suppose it would work well with specially-designed breastfeeding blouses which open from the shoulder downwards, but you definitely cannot use it with regular shirts.

Lastly, this perfect shawl comes in its own carrying case so it stays clean and compact to take anywhere. I love mine so much that I give it to almost every mom-to-be that I know. And, no, I don't work for the company. Oh, and did I mention that the colors in which it comes are really versitile?

1.0 out of 5 stars Looks cute, but really not functional, February 1, 2008
By
DMPepp (Los Angeles, CA USA) - See all my reviews
After receiving this cover from my registry, it looked very chic and easy to use. Once I started using it, however, I realized that without the built-in hoop that many of the other covers have, it is very difficult to see down while your baby is trying to latch on. Also the hole for your head is way too big - so most of my time was spent trying to keep myself covered while I stummbled with my baby underneath the cover all the while, not being able to see what was going on to get the baby in the right position.

5.0 out of 5 stars I CAN NURSE ANYWHERE IN COMFORT, October 23, 2007
This is the single best thing I purchased before my baby was born. Nursing took a good 6 weeks to get down (it was so, so, so painful and difficult, but it also is THE BEST thing I ever did in my life, outside of having him! - we both enjoy our breastfeeding relationship so very much). It is easy to stuff in a diaper bag, easy to put on one-handed, easy to use, and works in many ways. It keeps nursing private for me (although I fully support nursing moms who unbutton and go for it, I'm shy about flashing boobage and so this is perfect for making nursing private in public) and it allows me to nurse anywhere I please without a second thought. It also has proved great for minimizing distractions for an older baby who unlatches to look around every two seconds, although he can kick it up and around when he's really determined to explore the world while feeding. It's beautiful - can be worn as a shawl. It's soft to the touch and light weight so baby won't sweat while under it (great for all seasons). I've also used it to block the sun and wind by draping it over his Snugride car seat while carrying him in it to and from the car. It even comes with it's own carry pouch so it stays clean, in case baby puts it into his mouth (which he or she will at some point). I've washed it many times and it looks as good as the first day I received it, which I didn't think would be the case (it feels like suede and I thought it would get icky after many washes, but nope!) It's just great and I highly recomment it (and breastfeeding!!! If you really want to breastfeed, stick with it no matter how bad it may get - although for lots of women it isn't painful or hard at all, but if it is for you, nurse through it and you'll be SOOO happy you did. It's truly the easiest, most enjoyable thing in the world once you and baby get the hang of it!)

5.0 out of 5 stars Love my L'ovedbaby, December 23, 2010
I tend not to write reviews, but I think this shawl is getting a bad rap. I mean: Wow! I'm really surprised that so many people have had difficulties using this shawl. I used this shawl exclusively for breastfeeding in public or nearly-public, as well as while I pumped in my office at work. I gained a LOT (seriously: A LOT) of weight when I was pregnant, and I never felt exposed on the sides or through the neck hole. The neck opening is large, and when I wanted to peek at my son I could do that easily, though I never felt I had to look at him the entire time he ate. When I didn't need a peek, it was easy to tug it up a bit so more of the opening was at the back of my neck. I used this on airplanes right next to complete strangers, in restaurants, anywhere. I'm frankly stunned that so many had such a hard time with this. The carrying bag was a great addition, too: just roll it up and stuff it in it's bag and it's ready to go for next time. And the microfiber material is lovely: soft, lightweight, and moisture just beads up and rolls off it. I confess I didn't go too many places that would require covering up when we were first getting the hang of breastfeeding, so I can't speak for how difficult it is to learn to breastfeed in public, but I don't think one can fault the cover-up.

4.0 out of 5 stars Wonderfully soft fabric!, August 8, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: L'ovedbaby 4-in-1 Nursing Shawl (Baby Product)
there is only one problem with this shawl... the hole that goes over your head and around your shoulders is HUGE!!! i'm not really petite or anything, but when my daughter is nursing, i'm sure that other people can see most of my breast through this opening alone. I read some other reviews on this product saying that the fabric on the side is too short, but all I did is turn the shawl a little (why wouldn't you? If it bothers you, fix it!) My solution was to simply sew the opening a little more closed, and now I like it just fine :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Useful and Attractive Nursing Cover, September 17, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is my first nursing shawl, so I can't comment on the others, but I love this one! It easily folds up very small in the included pouch, so I can take it everywhere. It's very lightweight and breathable, so I feel comfortable nursing my little one underneath. In a pinch, I can use it as a blanket to lay my baby on or to shade the carseat, and it's washed very easily. It doesn't have one of the hoops I've heard other nursing covers have, but I have no difficulty peeking at my baby when I want to, and when I'm sitting in a restaurant or someplace else, no one would know I'm nursing except for the feet sticking out!

Fast delivery, product exactly as described. My wife can't imagine not having had the shawl at this point.. it has given her so much confidence for feeding our baby girl in public.

1.0 out of 5 stars Ended up getting another one, June 11, 2010
This review is from: L'ovedbaby 4-in-1 Nursing Shawl (Baby Product)
Couldn't write the review until the baby was here :) And now that I am breastfeeding, this shawl is pretty annoying. I agree with one of the reviewers here. The hole is too big so I struggled with trying to cover myself. at the same time, I can't see my baby. The best I can do is what you see in the picture, but I you can't see my baby's eyes. and at that exact position, I'm not even sure I'm decent in front of everyone. so I ended up buying another. I got the bebe-au-lait one and am going to give that a try.

i liked this one b/c of it's multi function use. but if the main function I need it for is not working, what's the point? maybe it'll fit better when the baby is older. my baby is 6 weeks (exactly how long it look me to breastfeed). I liked how discreet this looks too..poncho vs an apron look but by the time you tell everyone you're breastfeeding, they will be expecting your apron look anyway--made popular by The Office, I think :)

Hope this helps.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great fabric but didn't work as well as I had hoped, April 26, 2010
This review is from: L'ovedbaby 4-in-1 Nursing Shawl (Baby Product)
I do love the fabric, it is super soft and nice, I also like that it covers the front and back of you. The sides however don't provide much coverage and if your baby is like mine, and grabs and pulls stuff it's a constant struggle to keep this in place. I haven't used it as a blanket or stroller cover yet. I think this would work best for newborns but once they get to the point where they are grabbing everything it is really easy for them to grab the sides and expose you.
