Editorial Reviews

Product Description

Art Rock/Pop with dance and world music influences. A mix of delicacy and passion. Inspired by the likes of Peter Gabriel, Kate Bush and Talking Heads, Lacy works with traditional or ethnic sources suggestive of Asian, African and Celtic ideas but resulting in a singular style often inspired by the natural world.

Review

...enough successes to make this very well-recorded disc worthy of a serious listen by those with open musical minds. When it's at its best, this disc takes some adventurous chances that rival the work of anyone working in these occasionally treacherous musical areas. -- Philadelphia City Paper, April 17, 1992

It has that Kate Bush/Tori Amos feel with an exotic Middle Eastern twist.... the disc is a sumptuous affair. -- Philadelphia City Paper, April 17, 1992

A friend recommended Lacy's first album, Lovefeast, which was a real find. Lacy is a very interesting blend of influences including Kate Bush and Madonna. Catchy tunes and beats with deep, interesting lyrics. Some of the tracks are very danceable, others very ethereal and mystical with Celtic, Middle Eastern and other influences. She wrote and co-produced all the tunes. You can find more information about her at her website, mereminne.com.

"Lovefeast" is a real find. Lacy's music is unique (she wrote and co-produced the whole album), but her influences include Kate Bush and Madonna. Very catchy tunes and beats with deep, interesting lyrics. Some of the tracks are fun and danceable, others are ethereal and mystical with Celtic and Middle Eastern influences. Lacy's also a dancer and choreographer; check out her website, mereminne.com.
