Since Christmas (when we gave our 4 year old daughter her first DS system), I have bought and sold about 20 new DS games. I'm trying to find the perfect games for my almost 5 year old. I am so happy that I found this game, Lovely Lisa. Absolutely adorable.

3.0 out of 5 stars Some 6 year olds may find this game too hard
I purchased this game for my 6 year old granddaughter. She loves to play her DS and I am always on the lookout for games she can understand and play. She's just started to read and still needs some help with the words and instructions. This game is still a little too hard for her. Maybe by the end of this school year, she'll be able to play without an adult helping.

Since Christmas (when we gave our 4 year old daughter her first DS system), I have bought and sold about 20 new DS games. I'm trying to find the perfect games for my almost 5 year old. I am so happy that I found this game, Lovely Lisa. Absolutely adorable.

There are so many different activies to do. As a career girl you can work in a sweet (ice cream) shop, flower shop, hamburger shop, be a nurse, a preschool teacher, paint fingernails by working at a nail salon, be a pop singer/dancer (Lisa's dancing is sooo cute), become a police officer (you will need to win all the mini career games before unlocking the police officer game). Lisa also goes to Charm school, where she plays on the piano, computer, sews and after completing and winning all of those mini games, you can unlock a table manner game (which is my favorite game).

When Lisa goes home, there are a ton of fun mini games to do at home to help mom and dad. You can help mom shop, do laundry, cook and after you finish and win those mini games, you can unlock the game called pet care, where you take care of the family dog. You help dad build stuff for the house. Plus, help with the younger brothers and sisters - like clean the babies room and soothe the babies to sleep.

Now, to the fashion part.....the best part. Each time you win a mini game you get points. You can take these points and buy new hair styles, skirts, tops, dresses, tights, shoes, make-up and accessories. The more games you win, the more options of styles you unlock. You can change up Lisa look all the time and even design her outfit from scratch. She can model for you by turning around and zooming up close and far away. Also, you can practice doing her make-up. Once you have played and won all the mini games and earned a lot of points (make sure you practice puting make up on and have bought all the colors to go in the make up section), you will be able to unlock the Contest Hall. There are no directions on how to unlock this part of the game, but I found that after we played with this game for a few hours, we finally were able to unlock the Contest Hall to enter Lisa into a beauty pageant. You'll want to make sure that Lisa's meter stays full in the 'Lisa's Status' area.

Daughter loves this game and even mom loves to play it too. We take turns designing our own outfits for Lisa to wear. Also, once you design your shirt and skirts, you save them in a numbered spot (1-5), then you can go and change her clothing in a different area, where you can choose your previous designs. It's really cool.

There is hardly any reading for a child to do and at the beginning, before you start the game, the parent can adjust the levels to easy, medium and challenging, also you can up the points in this area too, so you earn more points, quicker. Last point...before you start your games, you can chat with Lisa real quick. She'll ask you questions about your day and if it's at night, she'll ask you questions about your evening. Game is awesome. Thanks for reading.

Very cute & fun. My 6 year old non-reader loves this game. Holds her interest more than her other DS games. She loves putting on Lisa's makeup (no garrish colors, very sweet & innocent) and changing her hair. She can design patterns for Lisa's clothes. Color a square any way you want & then see it duplicated for an all over effect (pretty cool.) Lisa helps her family out with chores (laundry for mom & furniture building for dad.) Well done at a nice price.

I bought this for my 4 year old daughter for Christmas & she LOVES IT! It's great for little ones. There are some parts where she needs help because she can't read yet, but there are also plenty of places to go on the game where no reading is required. I've played it myself & it's actually a lot of fun. The dress-up part is especially great!

I was a little sceptical about Lovely Lisa at first, but bought it on a whim and am I glad I did. There are a wide variety of mini games and the graphics are cute. The games are short enough to hold the attention of even a small attention span and have a lot of repeated play opertunities. It is really fun and after playing for a while you can unlock a beauty pagent type of game. Overal it is a fun, well-rounded, and cute game and I would definetly reccomend it.

We bought this game for our 6 and 8 year old girls. Our younger daughter sort of liked the game at first but prefers other games. Our 8 year old thinks it's pretty boring and would prefer other games. She will play it once in a while. All of these types of games are more for younger kids, but require reading. So by the time a kid is reading well enough to play the game, it's not mature enough to hold their interest. I found this with a lot of the girl or princess games the Z animal games etc. they usually play the same and don't keep kid's interest for long. Our girls prefer the Carnival Games, and Club House games. We have just had the DS's for about 6 months, so we don't have a lot of games yet, but we've learner to steer away from these since they are really boring and geared for younger kids.

My daughter is 4 years old and loves this game. She has other games, but only wants to play this one. She loves creating new dresses for Lisa, changing her clothes, shopping, and doing all the jobs. This was a great purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars Favorite game!, November 30, 2009

This is, by far, my 8 year old daughter's favorite DS game (and with 3 DS-using kids in the house, we have dozens of different games). She absolutely loses herself in this game and thoroughly enjoys every activity. She is probably most proud of the table etiquette she has learned and was happy to share those lessons with the entire family at Thanksgiving dinner!

Based on the title alone, I was reluctant to buy the game, afraid it would be hokey and simplistic. I couldn't have been farther off base. It is a sweet game for sweet girls.

4.0 out of 5 stars fun game, June 10, 2009

I purchased this game for my daughters after reading the previous reviews. I would recommend this game. There are a lot of options. You can paint nails, vacuum, wash windows, scoop ice cream and decorate a cake. There is some reading involved but it seems like once you read through it the kids get the hang of it and can do it on their own.
